The removal of the upper age limit for contestants by the Miss Universe Organization in September 2023 paved the way for Rodríguez's historic win. She competed against over 34 other contestants, spanning ages from 18 to 73.

In her own words, she expressed her excitement at representing a new era in beauty pageants.

"I am thrilled to be representing this new paradigm in beauty pageants," Rodriguez told Hola! after winning the April competition. "Because we are inaugurating a new stage in which women are not only physical beauty but another set of values." She added, "I am the first of this generation to start with this."

Beyond the pageant stage, Rodríguez's personal life reflects a woman of ambition and self-discipline. As a lawyer and journalist, she's also pursuing a Ph.D. at IUPUI. She's also very passionate about a holistic approach to wellness and sticks to a consistent regime of exercise, eating organic food, and intermittent fasting.

Many are celebrating Rodriguez for defying age-related stereotypes. They say her win sends a powerful message of empowerment to women of all ages, inspiring them to prioritize their health and pursue their dreams, no matter their age.

As Rodríguez prepares to represent Buenos Aires on the global stage at Miss Universe Argentina later this year, her journey points to a promising trend of celebrating the beauty and accomplishments of older women.
