If you’re a wellness girl, you know that the vast amount of advice out there for optimal health can be overwhelming. Are you eating your raw carrot salad? Oiling your belly button? Seed cycling? Getting your daily 10k steps? Your wellness to-do list could go on and on, until your routine ends up becoming downright stressful – talk about backfiring.

That being said, sometimes we need a little reassurance that our healthy habits are paying off, even in the most subtle of ways. Here are 11 signs that prove you’re hot, healthy, and thriving.

Your Eyes Are Bright and Vibrant

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul, so it only makes sense that vibrant eyes indicate a vibrant body. If your eyes are bright and white, it’s a good indication that you’re well-rested, energetic, and in generally good health.

You Can Pass the Sitting-Rising Test

If you can get up from a cross-legged position without assistance or bracing yourself, that’s a sign that you’re strong, flexible, and balanced. In other words, you’ve got a hot, healthy bod.

You Have Rosy Cheeks

Unless it’s eczema or a rash, if your cheeks have a rosy glow, that’s a sign you have good circulation. That’s a huge indication of good health since circulation affects everything in your body, from energy levels to digestion to how quickly your wounds heal.

Think your circulation could use a boost? Some easy ways to get your blood pumping include dry brushing, eating more omega-3s, practicing yoga, and upping your cardio.

Your Digestion Is Regular

Having daily bowel movements is sexier than it sounds. That’s because regular BMs are a sign that everything is in tip-top shape in the digestion department. Sluggish digestion could be a sign of nutrient deficiencies, emotional stress, or lack of exercise.

Your Face Is Full-Looking

Embrace your full, healthy cheeks! Thin, slender facial structures may be having a moment, (looking at you, buccal fat removal and Ozempic), but a fuller, rounder face is generally a sign of youth and good health, as opposed to a more gaunt look, which signifies dehydration and undernourishment.

You Have Healthy Discharge

Having vaginal discharge during your fertile window is a sign that your hormones are healthy and balanced. Your discharge should be mild smelling and clear, white, or off-white in color. It can be watery, sticky, or gooey (think egg whites), depending on what cycle phase you’re in.

Your Tongue Is Pink

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, your tongue’s appearance can reveal a lot about your overall well-being.

If you’re in good health, your tongue will be light red or pink in color, with a thin, white coating and no cracks or divots. Any deviation from this appearance could mean something in your body is out of balance.

You Have a Lot of Saliva

Excess saliva doesn’t scream “hot and healthy,” but here’s a fun fact that might change your mind: When your mouth makes a lot of saliva, you’re less likely to suffer from tooth decay. That’s because saliva is responsible for naturally balancing your mouth’s pH level and cleaning your teeth. So more saliva means a healthier, more radiant smile.

You’re a Good Sleeper

Getting regular beauty sleep pays off. If you fall asleep in less than 30 minutes and can stay asleep through the night without waking up more than once, you’re likely hot and healthy. On the flip side, tossing and turning all night could be a sign of poor blood pressure, anxiety, or a number of other health concerns.

You Have To Trim Your Nails Often

If your nails are strong and grow quickly, that’s a sign of good health, especially in terms of your bones. Healthy nails appear thick, slightly oily, smooth, and consistent in color. Yellowing, brittleness, or ridges in your nails could be a sign of vitamin deficiencies. Consider upping your biotin, iron, or vitamin C intake if your nail health looks questionable.

Your Breath Naturally Smells Neutral

Will Witt recently raised eyebrows when he admitted to ditching toothpaste on Alex Clark’s new Culture Apothecary podcast. But as it turns out, the conservative-commentator-turned-raw-dairy-farmer is on to something.

Witt said that bad breath actually originates from the gut, and the Centre for Gastrointestinal Health backs up his claim. So when our gut is healthy, our breath will smell neutral – even without brushing. I for one will stick to my regular oral hygiene routine, but I’ll file this tidbit under “good things to know.”

Closing Thoughts

It’s easy to get so wrapped up in doing everything right in terms of our wellness routines that we ignore the subtle signs that we’re already thriving. If any of these resonate with you, chances are your hot and healthy habits are paying dividends.
