15 Celebs Who Found Love After 30

Have you ever seen Disney’s Peter Pan? I’m sure most of us remember watching the crocodile creeping around Captain Hook throughout the film, haunting him and reminding him of its presence at every opportunity. I’ve started to feel like the tick-tock of a woman’s biological clock is a little like that crocodile.

Even in my early twenties, my friends and I would discuss our fears over not finding a good man before it was too late and becoming unable to have kids. And this was well before the manosphere had taken off online, catapulting the conversation onto every social media platform. Just like the crocodile’s creeping tick-tock, the sound of my own biological clock pops up nearly every time I see a video of the Whatever podcast. Its host seems fixated on perpetually reminding women that as we age, we become less valuable.

Even though most women were already aware that conceiving kids may become more difficult after 30, this culture around shaming women for doing something we all do—age—applies so much more pressure on women to find a husband as soon as possible. Although we know it’s better for both men and women to settle down young, it’s important to remember that finding yourself single at 30 isn’t the end of the world. Despite what skeptics may say, it's very possible for women to successfully find love and marriage and start a family after the big 3-0.

1. Andi Dorfman

Andi Dorfman didn’t find love with Juan Pablo on The Bachelor, and her relationship with Josh Murray from The Bachelorette left her heartbroken, but hindsight is 20/20. It’s hard to know entirely what went on in her relationships with the men, but it's safe to say that they didn't leave audiences with fuzzy feelings.

Instead, Andi went her own way and lived a fulfilling single life until she met her husband at 34 years old. Now, she’s married and recently gave birth to a baby boy. In a post about being single in her 30s and patiently waiting for the right guy, Andi said: “It hasn’t always been easy, trust me, but somewhere along the road I learned to build my own happiness. I realized everyone has a different path and different timing and ultimately you’ve got two options: think you’re not good enough and get down on yourself OR dance on tables and relish the moment you are in."⁣

She continued, "⁣I wouldn’t change my path/timing for the world. Sure, I’ll be one of the older moms when my kids go to school but who cares? ⁣I LOVED being single, truly! I learned about myself, I cheered for myself, I had amazing experiences by myself, and while of course I feel fortunate to have found the love I have now, I’ll never regret not settling and finding the joy in my wild and crazy path. Even if at times that wild path seemed bleak and lonely.”

2. Laura Jacobs

Model-turned-matchmaker, Laura Jacobs experienced many of the struggles women face in the dating market today. After trudging through the dating trenches in New York City, she moved to Miami and eventually met her now-husband at 33 years old. Since then, they’ve had two sets of twins and she’s currently pregnant with baby number five. Congrats, Laura!

3. Ashley James

After finding herself single at 30, British broadcaster Ashley James made the decision to build a life she genuinely loves. This involved traveling, learning to DJ, and investing in her female friendships to create a truly fulfilling life. By 33, one piece of her life was still missing—someone to love. So, she made her way back onto dating apps and reconnected with her current long-term boyfriend, Tommy Andrews. This was in 2019, and since then, the couple has moved in together and had two kids.

4. Meghan Markle

Love her or hate her, Meghan Markle found her real-life prince at the age of 34. She’s a controversial figure for sure, but her road to finding true love wasn’t unlike many modern women’s journeys. After dating in her 20s, marrying at 30, and divorcing a few years later, Meghan then went on to meet Prince Harry and marry him in 2018. Since then, she has given birth to their son Archie at age 37, and their daughter, Lilibet, at age 39.

5. Cameron Diaz

Even famously beautiful women like Cameron Diaz have struggled to find their one true love in their 20s. Diaz married her husband Benji Madden when she was 42 years old—many years after the red pill community purports a woman’s sexual market value runs out. Although the manosphere teaches women to fear aging, Diaz expresses how much of a privilege she finds growing older to be.

6. Lily Collins

Just like her character in Emily In Paris, Lily Collins didn’t find love in her 20s. Unlike Emily, however, she found love in real life and married her husband in 2021 when she was 32 years old.

The rustic, intimate wedding took place in a gorgeous hot spring resort in Colorado. Collins looked truly ethereal, wearing a custom Ralph Lauren gown complete with Swarovski crystals and a lace cape and hood. Definitely a wedding fit for a fairytale!

7. Lana Del Rey

One of the most recent marriages to break the red pill ideology was when singer Lana Del Rey married alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene. The manosphere claims women after 30 have hit “the wall,” but at 39 years old, Lana destroyed that narrative by saying, “I do.”

8. Mary Harrington

British journalist Mary Harrington had an interesting journey to becoming a wife and mother. In her 20s, she spent her time rebelling against what was deemed “normal,” choosing to live an “experimental, communitarian” kind of life. It wasn’t until her late 20s when her grandmother suggested she grow her hair and get married that Mary realized the way she had been living wasn’t all that fun. By 32, she was married, and by 38, she gave birth to her daughter.

9. Katherine Ryan

Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan has one of the most romcom love stories I’ve ever heard. After a string of disappointments in her 20s and spending too much time with the wrong guys, she met the love of her life in her 30s. Katherine is based in the UK, but during a trip home to Canada, she bumped into her first love, whom she dated in her teen years and hadn’t seen in 20 years. Since then, they’ve married and now have two children together.

10. Ashley Iaconetti

If you’re a Bachelor franchise fan, you’ll remember how long Ashley I. yearned for Jared Haibon. It seemed to audiences that he simply didn’t see a future with her. It wasn’t until Ashley met someone else while filming The Bachelor Winter Games that he realized she was the one he wanted. At this point, Ashley was 30 years old. At 32 years old, the couple married and had their son when Ashley was 33.

11. Amal Clooney

Amal Clooney genuinely believed she was going to be a spinster before she met George Clooney at age 35. This was all the way back in 2013. Since then, the couple has tied the knot, welcomed twins, and committed their lives to philanthropic work.

12. Trista Sutter

Trista Sutter—the first ever Bachelorette—found her true love on the show with Ryan Sutter when she was 30 years old. They married at 31 and have since had two children together—Max when she was 34 and Blakesley at 36.

13. Becca Kufrin

We watched as she fell in love with Arie and were heart broken beside her as he changed his mind in one of the most brutal endings to The Bachelor we've witnessed yet. Then, we saw her choose Garett on her season of The Bachelorette, only to end up breaking up over political differences two years later. After these two disappointments, Becca even went on to freeze her eggs. She then took another chance at love on Bachelor In Paradise and met her husband, Thomas Jacobs, at age 31.

This pressure women put themselves under is something Becca wrote about for Business Insider: “I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to ditch the timeline. It's easy to have goals for when you want to be married, have kids, buy a house, and all those things. But really, how that unfolds looks different for everybody. Go easy on yourself, go along for the ride, and let go of the pressure to check boxes.”

14. Salma Hayek

Actress Salma Hayek had a long road to love. Although she’s kept quiet about the details of her love story with French businessman (and son of a billionaire) Francois-Henri Pinault, we know that they met when she was 39 years old. A few years later, they had a daughter together and tied the knot.

15. Eva Longoria

After two failed marriages, many women might give up on love altogether. But Eva Longoria didn’t—and thank God for that. At 40 years old, she met her husband Jose Baston. She didn’t give up on having a child, either. The pair welcomed their son to the world when Eva was 42 years old

Love Stories From Everyday Women

Reading stories from famous women who have found love in their 30s certainly provides hope, but although many of them try to convince us they're "just like us!" it can still be difficult to relate. After all, we don't exactly have the world at our fingertips like they do. Luckily, it isn’t just celebrities who have success stories in their 30s—normal women do too! Let's hear a few of our favorites:

“My husband and I met at a cafe in Paris when we were both 35. I asked him for a light, sat down at his table, and we talked until the cafe closed. Two days later, we saw each other there again and made plans for dinner that night. Five months later, we married,” writes one user on Reddit.

Another found love at nearly 38 years old: “Must have gone on 100 dates in my adult years. Finally found my guy on tinder of all places at 37.5. Now we are 6 months pregnant and moving in together around our one year anniversary. When you know you know.”

“Met my husband in my mid-30s on Tinder. I still remember the moment I saw his picture because he had the cutest, most genuine smile. We’ve been married for years now, and I never imagined I could be this happy. It’s also the easiest thing in the world: I just wake up and love him, every day.” writes another.

Finding yourself single over 30 is certainly not ideal for most women. Men and women generally aren’t very good at being their own matchmakers, and with hookup culture and modern feminism causing even more confusion, the path to true love has never been rockier.

But it’s important not to lose hope. As Andi Dorfman says, “Everyone has a different path and different timing and ultimately you’ve got two options: think you’re not good enough and get down on yourself OR dance on tables and relish the moment you are in.”

It may feel like everything is out of your control, but you can write a new narrative and choose your future. You may find you’re more in control than you think. If you’re really struggling to believe love, marriage and kids are possible over 30, just take a look at this Reddit thread. It’s filled with everyday women getting their fairytale ending later in life.
