Alex Cooper's Collaboration With SKIMS Makes Marriage Sexy Again

Alex Cooper, the soon-to-married host of the wildly popular Call Her Daddy Podcast collaborated with SKIMS to launch a new bridal lingerie line, The Wedding Shop. The photos include Cooper's fiancé, and the result is a refreshingly sexy portrayal of marriage. It also calls into question Cooper's past advice to young women.

The Wedding Shop, SKIMS' latest drop, features a stunningly styled Alex Cooper dressed in white lace playfully kissing her movie producer fiancé, Matt Kaplan.

Cooper (32) rose to fame in 2018 for what she called “uncensored, real, female locker room talk" on her Barstool Sports-sponsored podcast, Call Her Daddy, which primarily centered around the sexual exploits of Cooper (then 26) and her friend Sofia Franklyn. Since then, the two hosts had a very public feud and split up, eventually leading to Cooper leaving Barstool Sports altogether and signing an exclusive deal with Spotify in 2021.

The change in ownership has led to a change in content, with less of a focus on fourth-wave feminism and shallow sexual exploits. “People will tell me they miss the old ‘Call Her Daddy,’ but that show was dying,” Cooper said in a recent interview. “We were getting lower numbers than we’d ever gotten. It was like, ‘How many times can we talk about sex?’ I was getting a little bit bored. I need to be mentally stimulated by my content.”

It seems that as she's gotten older, Cooper has realized that the highly glamorized "Sex and the City" approach to life comes with real limitations. Candace Bushnell, the writer of the show has said so herself and coined the phrase "middle-aged sadness" as she reflected on life as an unmarried and childless woman entering her forties.

It's worth noting that after nearly five years of encouraging women to ignore traditional values and sleep with men indiscriminately, Cooper is now choosing to forgo her wild ways and get married instead.

Cooper and Kaplan met in 2020 via a Zoom call, which earned Kaplan the nickname "Mr. Sexy Zoom Man" on Cooper's show. Kaplan is the CEO of Ace Entertainment, and is known for his work on hits like "The Hunger Games" and "To All the Boys I've Loved Before." He proposed to Cooper with a romantic scavenger hunt and a dazzling 5-carat antique oval-cut diamond engagement ring.

Their photos for SKIMs are a playful, sexy nod to real chemistry and commitment, featuring Cooper in a way we've never seen her before. This collaboration, intentionally or not, goes beyond just selling lingerie; it changes the narrative around marriage, making it something to look forward to, to laugh about, and most importantly, to celebrate. Let the countdown to the wedding begin!
