Christmas is no time to be shy. With all the tinsel and twinkling lights, if you want to stand out, you need to match that energy. The problem is, as beings that like to conserve energy (an object at rest), the average person isn’t going to go above and beyond stylewise if she doesn’t have to. Why put a lot of effort into an outfit when a regular old hoodie and jeans will do? The path of least resistance is comfies on the couch. And so it often is.

The good news is that we still have a few weeks of festivities left, which should give us all the motivation we need to put in a little extra effort in the style department. And considering that January will soon arrive, and bring with it absolutely no reason to dress up, ever, we should take advantage while we can. Use the contagious Christmas cheer to give it your all when it comes to your outfit. Feeling cute is a real dopamine boost.

The same goes for embracing your inner girly girl. Why not use the merriest season to pull out all the stops? Especially when so much of winter fashion is already naturally feminine: pretty sweaters, bougie coats, and all velvet everything (not to mention sequins, rhinestones, and abundant silver and gold). Adopt any one of the above and you’ll increase your feminine fashion game exponentially. Or, try all of them at once, and explode in a cloud of pink sparkly pixie dust. A walking glitter bomb. The metric when choosing an outfit is this: the farther away you can be recognized, the better. And in that regard, we’ve got you covered.

Whether you’re dressing up, dressing down, or a little bit of both, here’s all the feminine outfit inspo you need to make sure yours truly stays front and center this holiday season.

Dressing Up

This is the most exciting category by far. Who doesn’t love an excuse to put on a sparkly dress and jewels? Fortunately for the glam queens, at Christmas you really can go all out, and no one will bat an eye. Take Mara Lafontan, for example:

Crawling across the chairs in glitter boots and a matching mini, like it’s the most normal thing in the world. Iconic sleigh. (‘Tis the season.)

Or, keep it classy like Nitsan Raiter with an off-the-shoulder subdued sparkle:

Tasteful elegance. What a babe.

This is also a great time, however, for over-the-top ruffles and frills. Extra froufrou to go.

Feeling drawn to festive sensuality? Mais oui. Just make sure it’s dripping with velvet, satin, or big cat energy:

If all else fails, making a splash in the season’s most traditional color, big poppy, is also recommended.

Dressing Down

Not to be outdone by its much more extravagant older sister, staying in is also an excellent option this holiday season. And just because it’s casual doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Recreate Alix Earle and Co. sleighing all day in festive Christmas pj’s:

Or, try a delicate set with a vintage feel:

Either way, you’ll make a splash – sans Spanx.

Damson Madder Jackie Pointelle PJ Set, £65

Wildfox Tennis Club Pants, $88

“Sleighing” In

A third, less well-known – but equally worthy – option is “sleighing in,” or casual, but make it unforgettable. Appropriate for brunch and chill house parties, it’s the perfect opportunity to bust out those special little pieces that you love but don’t normally wear, like a sparkly bow cardigan or bright red Sambas. Enduringly memorable, indeed.

A cozy sweater dress is also perfect for this category; you’ll feel like you’re wearing a comfy blanket, while still making the jaws drop.

Charlotte Simone Tammy Coat, $554

Mango Fur Effect Jacket, $160

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day

Picking out a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day outfit is the most fun of all. Whether you’re surrounded by family or spending time with best friends, you want to honor those relationships with your absolute Christmas best. Show them how much you love them with a well-thought-out look – it might mean more than you think.

For some, a velvet jumpsuit is the perfect choice:

For others, a red-bowed wonder is in order:

For all, looking completely smashing is the surefire way to make unforgettable Christmas memories with loved ones far and wide.

After-Presents Hot Girl Hike

The after-presents hot girl hike is undoubtedly one of the best parts of the big day. After a cozy, but hectic, morning inside, getting some fresh air and moving around in nature can feel like the true gift. Make it hot by sporting your best furry coat (leopard print is great) and fuzzy boots, and you’ll warm up in no time.

Hot ballerina sashay is also a vibe.
