The upcoming film Blonde is set to release this fall on Netflix. It covers Marilyn Monroe's rise to fame and is based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates. Ana de Armas shines in the trailer for the film, showing both the pain and beauty behind Marilyn's eyes. There are brand new photos released of her on the set of Blonde, and the resemblance is striking.

Director Andrew Dominik has been working on this project for 15 years, and he optioned both Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain to play Marilyn before he finally settled on Ana. When he is asked by Vanity Fair why he chose to make a movie about Marilyn, he replied, "I saw an opportunity to describe an adult life through the lens of mistaken childhood beliefs and trauma."
The film is 166 minutes long, and you can watch it on September 23.
