In the conversation, Kasparian shared that in 2022, she was sexually assaulted by a homeless man while walking her dog in Los Angeles. According to her account, the man grabbed her by the hips and began assaulting her while laughing, leaving her terrified and helpless.

What added to her trauma was the backlash she faced when she spoke about the incident publicly. Kasparian revealed that her liberal friends and political allies shamed her for discussing her fear and frustration. She received harsh messages accusing her of being insensitive to the homeless community, with critics saying she was painting an unfair picture of "unhoused neighbors." Some even labeled her as racist, despite her attacker being white, a detail she hadn’t initially shared.

This response from her community, Kasparian explained, was a turning point. "That woke me up," she said, noting how the reaction made her reevaluate her political alignment. Jillian Michaels shared a similar experience as she watched many liberals become more extreme.

Kasparian described feeling "politically orphaned," disillusioned by what she called the left's unwillingness to acknowledge crime or safety concerns. Kasparian added that this incident, coupled with other frustrations with leftist policies, led her to distance herself from the Democratic Party.

Many have celebrated her willingness to break free from the rigid dogma often associated with far-left ideologies. Supporters praise her for calling out the disconnect between political elites and the realities many Americans face due to policies they didn’t vote for, such as lax crime enforcement and the rise of homelessness in major cities like Los Angeles.

However, Kasparian has also faced criticism for what some see as her delayed concern about these issues. Some argue that while Kasparian’s experience was undoubtedly traumatic, she only began addressing public safety and homelessness after it affected her personally. Critics point out that many Americans have been struggling with the negative consequences of Democratic policies for years, particularly in urban areas where crime and homelessness are rampant.

In addition to this, Kasparian recently called out the Democratic Party for dishonesty regarding unemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic. She pointed out that many Democrats falsely attributed economic downturns solely to Trump, ignoring their own support for lockdowns that heavily contributed to unemployment.
