A resurfaced video shows Anne Hathaway being "rude" to the same interviewer that Blake Lively was condescending to.

Anne Hathaway’s resurfaced interview with Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa has been making the rounds on social media.

The resurfaced clip was from a press junket for Les Misérables from around 2012. The video, reuploaded by Flaa herself on TikTok, shows the interviewer trying to break the ice by asking the actress to sing her answers. Hathaway politely declined and laughed, saying, “Well, I won’t be doing that, but you’re more than welcome to sing.”

The energy between the two women got even more awkward from there. When The Idea of You star was asked if she thought love was more passionate in the past, Hathaway's answer was a plain “No.” Flaa pressed further, “No?” she asked. “No,” Hathaway said again, bluntly.

Flaa then asked if she remembered her first crush. Again, Hathaway simply says, “No.”

The comment section on TikTok was not pleased with Hathaway. "I don't understand why some celebs find it so hard to be polite to interviewers who are genuinely asking lighthearted questions!" wrote one viewer. Flaa responded to it and wrote, "Thank you. Agree."

Another commented, "The crazy part is THEY KNOW THEY'RE BEING RECORDED."

But what if Hathaway was tired? What if the questions were just awkward? To that, another user said, "Anne was paid $10 MILLION for this role."

Then again, many women are siding with Hathaway, saying that Flaa's questions were awkward to begin with.

Anne Hathaway Responds

Flaa recently shared in a new video that Hathaway reached out to her after the resurfaced interview. Flaa said, “Yesterday I did receive an email. It was from an Anne Hathaway publicist and he forwarded a message to me from Anne. I have to say I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never gonna even see that video, but she did, and she did something pretty amazing.”

Hathaway sent Flaa a heartfelt email explaining what she was going through at the time of the interview and apologized for giving her “an awful interview.” Flaa described the message as “very personal” and touching, saying, “I was just so grateful that she did that.”

Flaa continued, “I replied to her and said, ‘You know, I’m so grateful that you did this, and it means a lot to me that she did.’” Hathaway even invited Flaa to interview her for her next movie coming out in May. Flaa concluded, “I have so much respect for people who own up to their mistakes and say they're sorry. It's such a powerful word.”

Still, people compared Hathaway’s interview to Blake Lively’s viral video with Flaa. In Lively's 2016 interview with Flaa, she responded to a congratulatory comment about her pregnancy by making a snide remark about Flaa’s supposed “bump,” even though the journalist wasn’t pregnant. Parker Posey, Lively’s co-star, didn’t help either, rolling her eyes and seemingly ignoring Flaa’s questions altogether.

TikTok users called out Lively’s "mean girl" energy in the clip. One user nailed the sentiment, saying, “We saw the interview, so don’t gaslight us. She was rude.”
