That '70s Show‘s Ashton Kutcher revealed the challenges and hardships he went through in his former relationship with Demi Moore. In an interview with Esquire, the 44-year-old shared his thoughts on the late-term miscarriage Moore unfortunately had. “Losing a kid that you think you’re going to have, and that close to thinking you’re going to have a kid, is really, really painful,” he said. “Everyone deals with that in different ways.”
"I love kids,” he continued. "I wouldn’t have gotten married to a woman that had three kids if I didn’t love kids. The idea of having another kid would have been incredible.” Though what he had to go through was heartbreaking, Kutcher says he wouldn't change what happened. “For whatever reason, I had to have that experience," he shared.
Even though he lost his biological child with Moore, Kutcher became a stepfather to Moore's three daughters from her ex-husband, Bruce Willis. "I was 26, bearing the responsibility of an 8-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 12-year-old," he told Esquire. “That’s how some teen parents must experience their twenties.”
Kutcher and Moore began dating in 2003, prompting headlines about their scandalous 15-year age gap relationship. The former couple eventually divorced in 2013. “Nothing makes you feel like a failure like divorce,” the actor confessed. “Divorce feels like a wholesale f*cking failure. You failed at marriage."
Despite their split, Kutcher maintains a healthy relationship with each of Moore's girls, Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer Willis, now grown women. He's also now happily married with two kids with his former costar, Mila Kunis. Kutcher is currently focused on "being the best parent he can be," and he and his wife even read books on this topic. They try to stay conscious of their parenting and intend to raise "good decision-makers."
Needless to say, the celebrity is incredibly grateful for where he's at in life. “We have to celebrate,” said Kutcher. "With a life like this, after all, how can you not?"
