Forget about the celebrity divorces you heard about this year – Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse’s beautiful union proves that romance is still alive today.

The gorgeous couple first got together in the summer of 2018, and it all started when they met at a party. Though their flirtatious interaction was hasty, it was enough to prompt Sprouse to send the supermodel a DM through Instagram. She ghosted him for six months – but she eventually caved to her feelings and met up with him, and the duo has been inseparable ever since. That same year, Palvin opened up about her romance with Sprouse. “I’m very much in love right now,” she confessed. “I feel like I found the perfect guy.”

By January 2019, Palvin and Sprouse had moved in together. The model revealed that she knew that she wanted to be Sprouse’s girlfriend the “first minute” that they met, but she was a bit hesitant to jump into a relationship so fast. “For a month, he was, like, asking me to be exclusive, and I was like, ‘No, I gotta get to know you more,” she told PEOPLE. “And [then] I was like, ‘Okay, let’s do it.’ I just sat down, took a deep breath, and I’m like, ‘What am I waiting for?’ There’s no other guy I would love more than I love him, and he’s got everything that I need.”

Years later, in June 2023, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody star and the supermodel announced their engagement to the world. In an interview with V Magazine, the couple revealed that Sprouse went down on one knee last year but didn’t want to publicize it immediately. “We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” Sprouse said. “What we wanted to do that as kind of tongue-in-cheek about the nature of private versus public. We’re playing with the idea of perception.”

Palvin noted they wanted “to do it on our own time,” yet their PR team pressured them. “When some people leaked the information that we got engaged, our PR team was like, ‘Hey, so you guys should do maybe a post about it or talk to this magazine or talk to that magazine,” she recalled. “That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up. So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”

It’s obvious that Palvin was eager to be a bride, and she expressed her excitement in a sweet Instagram post of her and her man. She wrote in the caption, “I am a Sprouse to be.”

Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse Are Forever

Six years after their electrifying meeting, the couple tied the knot in Palvin’s home country in Hungary. “Today was a more private event with our closest circle,” Palvin told Vogue. The brilliant wedding planner was none other than the model herself and her sister, Anita Palvin. Their parents owned a property reserved for weddings and other celebrations, so the sisters had experience when it came to planning. “We didn’t have a planner, so Barbara and her sister planned most of it,” Sprouse explained. “They told me my only job was to show up and say the right name.”

The stunning bride wore a gorgeous silk Vivienne Westwood dress paired with Jimmy Choo heels and a Tiffany and Co. silver choker, and her handsome groom opted for a classic tux. The model carefully selected her wedding ensemble and her second outfit – a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini dress – because it felt young and fun. “It was the best choice,” she shared. “The dress made me feel like a princess.”

Palvin was indeed a princess on her special night, one that embraced the beauty of her Hungarian roots. “There is also a Hungarian tradition where you have to wear a red dress after midnight – it’s called menyecske ruha,” the new wife explained. “There was no question – I had to wear a Hungarian designer for this one, so I chose Mero. They created the dress of my dreams. It was sexy and sweet but also comfortable – exactly what I wanted.”

The bride and groom exchanged their promises in a humble church in Albertirsa, the same location where Palvin's parents got married over three decades ago. Following the emotional ceremony, a civil event was held on an island in a reserve on Palvin's parents' property. “The weather was perfect with a little cool breeze,” the model stated. “It was a beautiful moment that we will never forget.”

Sprouse said they were "filled with excitement" but calmed down after the church service. Before they walked down the aisle, they were nervous. He added, "But as soon as we laid eyes on each other, we just started laughing, and this calmed our nerves. Of course, we both ended up crying.”

Their first dance was nerve-wracking, but once they finished it, they got to partake in a memorable celebration with music, food, and games. But this isn't their last wedding – they're planning another love-filled ceremony in LA. “It’s gonna take some time for me to get used to being called Mrs. Sprouse,” the model joked. “Dylan’s been calling me his wife for three years now, so there’s not a lot of adjusting on his end. We’re excited to go back to LA to our pets and rest a bit – before we start planning the American wedding.”

Closing Thoughts

While it's true that we may be experiencing a dating pandemic, many young people still desire to get married and find long-lasting love and commitment. The media often magnifies celebrity breakups and depressing divorce statistics, creating a perception that healthy relationships are mere fantasies. Unfortunately, these narratives overshadow the fact that millions of people still cherish traditional values on love and marriage. Social media also perpetuates the notion that finding a partner is near impossible, leading some to lose hope in pursuing meaningful connections.

With these toxic "black pills" bombarding young people daily, it's important to remain hopeful and understand that there are still individuals out there who don't just want a fling or a situationship – they want a life partner and a fulfilling relationship that gives them happiness.
