Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman's iconic Alfred Hitchcock-inspired photoshoot for Vogue is a beauty we never knew we needed. In a series of photographs by the magazine, the duo is showcased in various styles. In some shots, they ride a moped in casual wear; in others, they're dressed to the nines at a glamorous five-star hotel. Vogue's interview with the It Ends with Us star took inspiration from the 1955 film To Catch a Thief.

But beyond the glamorous portrayal of Lively lies a humbler side that viewers don't often get to see. In the article, the interviewer writes how she's immediately greeted by the actress's lively children (see what I did there?) during her visit, a testament to her down-to-earth home life. She isn't the red-carpet star we know her as off-screen, but a devoted mom to four children, whom she shares with husband Ryan Reynolds.

Lively's daughters – all under the age of 10 – were "dancing and singing around their mother; it is a scene of joy and silliness and utter chaos, and she seems to be delighting in it," Vogue wrote. The writer tells Lively she won't mention the kids, but the blonde bombshell says she can.

“Sitting around with them doing chicken dances while I have a very serious conversation with you is probably the most accurate portrait of me possible," Lively said. She later added that “My life has become more intimate” because she's been focusing more on her young children in recent years and taking fewer acting roles.

We're two months away from Halloween, and Lively is preparing for it already. “I got cloaks on Etsy and went to the Garment District, got all the trims. Look, I did all this, the sweetheart shape, the details on the sleeve…” she said about her kids' costumes. She goes on about baking, admitting, “I’d so much rather buy a box of Betty Crocker vanilla cake mix, because they’ve already done the chemistry of it, the science, and then now I get to make it taste delicious. Now I get to add my bourbon or my elderflower liqueur…”

Colleen Hoover even emphasized the star's commitment to being a mother. “She could be on a phone call with, it doesn’t matter, the freaking Pope,” the author explained, “and if her kid walks into the room, she’s gonna give one hundred percent of her attention to her children. As a mom, I just really fell in love with that part of her.”

A Simple Favor director Paul Feig corroborates this. “She’s the best, one of the best moms I’ve ever seen,” he said. “When she’s working and when she’s in it, a rock-solid pro—but it’s so funny because then there she is, off running to get gelato for the kids.”

The Gossip Girl star's friendship with Taylor Swift goes all the way back to 2015. Believe it or not, "The Man" singer is a godmother to Lively's kids! It Ends With Us features "My Tears Richochet" in the movie and trailer. Lively even had plans to see Swift in Madrid the day after her interview. Swift "is someone she holds dear."

Lively loves all of her friends. As Gigi Hadid said, “To be friends with her [Lively] is to have the most beautiful, effortlessly cool, witty, fun, fashionable, creative, caring bonus sister.”

With her recent launch of Blake Brown haircare products, her role in the highly anticipated film It Ends with Us, and being surrounded by the love of her husband, kids, and friends, it's clear that Blake Lively is incredibly fortunate – and she knows it. "I was thinking about what you said before, about luck," she said, turning to the interviewer. "Wouldn’t it be terrible if I didn’t realize how lucky I am?"
