Ryan Reynolds took a jab at the drama surrounding him and Blake Lively – but his wife did not seem impressed.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have finally made an appearance.

Reynolds raised his hand during the SNL 50 Q&A session hosted by comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. When called upon, the hosts asked how he was doing. He responded, "Great! Why? What have you heard?" The Deadpool star is obviously joking about the numerous headlines about the nasty legal battles concerning him, his wife, and Justin Baldoni. Blake Lively, seated next to him, promptly turned her head to look at him as her smile dropped.

The audience laughed (well, not everyone did...just check out Kevin Costner's face), but the real moment came from Lively, who was seated right next to him. As her smile dropped, the internet wondered whether it was because she was caught off guard. Maybe she was annoyed? Or is it possible that she's just playing along?

The lawsuit is filled with allegations ranging from defamation to behind-the-scenes power plays, so for Reynolds turning the situation into a comedy is a very bold move. Viewers were not at all entertained.

"Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively have a huge set of balls. They went on #SNL50thAnniversary just to make fun of bullying Justin Baldoni right before they go to trial for bullying Justin Baldoni. Are they crazy?" tweeted @StephanieSidley.

"Joking about a potential harassment case your wife is in just rubs me the wrong way, same the way the movie was promoted rubbed me wrong. The whole subject has been handled dreadfully," wrote @Financial-Painter689 on Reddit. Fair point. Lively's reaction is incredibly telling if it isn't scripted. Something isn't right here. If her allegations are true, then it makes sense why she would be upset. Would a husband casually joke about his wife's sexual harassment case? Is it possible that their claims aren't as serious as they portray them to be?

Her concerned look makes sense when you consider she’s been out of the spotlight for months. It seems she attended SNL 50 just to enjoy the event as a guest—no press, no interviews. Imagine thinking you're finally getting a break from the media, only for your husband to crack a joke about you getting sued.

@xoxoButterbuns offered an interesting theory: "I feel like Ryan was trying to take her down a peg and it got wildly out of control. HIS company took over marketing by force during filming. I recall thinking 'whoever is responsible for the marketing is trying to destroy Blake' and she's continued to be painted as awful throughout. Even if she were innocent, Ryan is mucking up her case, allegations, and credibility."

It seems that Reynolds is also trying a classic PR strategy, that is, to make fun of yourself before others can. "Classic PR move - make fun of yourself and the situation and people might love you again. Probably something Drake should have tried out," another comment read. But not everyone was convinced. "Either way, the entire bit made me cringe."
