Britney Spears Announces She Is Expecting Her Third Baby And Reveals She Had Perinatal Depression With Her Last Pregnancy
Pop princess Britney Spears has been dating Sam Asghari since 2016, and although they never announced it, it seems as though the couple secretly got married.
In her most recent Instagram post, Britney referred to Sam as "my husband," even though the world has known him as her fiancé. But that's not even the most surprising part of her last Instagram post. Britney made a huge life announcement about her growing family.
Britney Spears Is Pregnant with Her Third Child
Britney already has two sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, and the 40-year-old just announced that she's expecting her third child, this time with Sam. In the caption of her Instagram post, she joked that she lost "so much weight" just in time for her Maui trip, only to gain it back.
"I thought 'Geez … what happened to my stomach ???' My husband said 'No you’re food pregnant silly 🤪 !!!'" she wrote. "So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby 👶🏼 … 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant 🤰🏼🙈🙈🙈 It’s growing !!!"
Britney also joked that if she has twins she "might just loose it" [sic]. She shared her plans to steer clear of the paparazzi, who are always trying to get "their money shot of me."
She even opened up about the struggles she had with a previous pregnancy. "It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression. I have to say it is absolutely horrible," she shared. "Women didn’t talk about it back then. Some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret."
Perinatal depression happens during a woman's pregnancy and symptoms include frequent crying, extreme fatigue, increased anxiety, and significant changes in appetite. Britney says she plans on doing yoga every day during this pregnancy.
When Britney was still under her conservatorship, she said that her conservators were forcing her to keep her IUD implanted which made it impossible for her to have a baby if she wanted. It seems as though she was able to have the IUD removed once the court ruled that she could be released from her conservatorship.
Britney didn't release anymore details about when her baby is due or how far along she is, but there is already an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities and fans alike.
