How Candace Owens Is Uniting Conservatives And Liberals With Her "It Ends with Us" Coverage
Candace Owens is uniting everyone through her coverage of the "It Ends with Us" drama.
Some people would see Candace Owens’ content as divisive – but after this past week, I beg to differ.
We know that Americans are constantly at war with each other; we're a country that has been defined by its two-party system. Every election cycle, the lines are drawn, and the black-and-white thinking possesses everyone. It's always left versus right, conservatives versus progressives.
So imagine the shock when people started realizing that Owens, of all commentators, has been uniting people across political backgrounds lately. And, hilariously enough, we have none other than Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni to thank for that. Allow me to explain.
Has Candace Owens Become Our Wendy Williams?
Owens has been at the forefront of covering the highly publicized drama surrounding the film adaptation of It Ends with Us, which has turned into an all-out PR war between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. If you need more context, check out our coverage on that here. As the juiciest saga of 2025 unfolds, Owens has stayed busy providing deep dives, insider scoops, and live commentary that has captivated people far beyond the usual right-wing sphere. Even my left-wing friends have admitted to repeatedly refreshing Owens’ Instagram page for new developments. I can’t blame them.
Women on TikTok, many of whom previously dismissed Owens for her controversial takes, are now reposting her content and tuning into her live streams on YouTube. She regularly receives emails from viewers (yes, including liberals) who eagerly share information on the feud. It’s beautiful to see: By incorporating their contributions into her livestreams, she’s transforming her audience from consumers into active participants, effectively turning them into a decentralized, grassroots media force. She's described this internet coalition as an "investigation army of women and men" that's guided by "basic morality."
Owens herself shared that she received an email from someone admitting that, while they don’t like her political commentary, they love watching her celebrity content. To which she responded that all of that is connected. And that, right there, is why she is such an effective commentator. This is where most conservative commentators fail. They reject pop culture and other art forms, dismissing it as frivolous or beneath serious discussion. In doing so, they alienate the very audiences they claim to want to reach. Culture, media, and art is the undercurrent of society. They all shape beliefs, influence politics, and reflect the collective consciousness. Ignoring it doesn’t make it disappear; it just ensures that conservatives have no say in the conversation.
Owens understands this. Instead of fighting a losing battle against the entertainment industry, she immerses herself in it and exposes the Hollywood power dynamics, and the intersection of fame and ideology. It may seem like she’s regurgitating comments in a gossip forum, but she’s covering the news while translating it in a way that resonates with people who might never engage with traditional political commentary.
Her ability to bridge the gap between cultural commentary and political discourse is why she continues to grow and attract left-leaning people. In contrast, other personalities remain stagnant, and some commentators who typically cover politics burn out from it. Conservatives often struggle with culture because they view it as an enemy rather than an opportunity. They rant about Hollywood’s moral decay but fail to recognize that culture and art are effective mediums to influence in a positive manner.
The It Ends With Us controversy has been a perfect storm for her (and so many of us). The alleged drama between Lively and Baldoni has provided endless material and entertainment. Owens has used her investigative skills and humor to question the motives of everyone involved. She's bringing down the New York Times after they seemingly smeared the film's director while colluding with Blake Lively's team (again, this is all alleged). The once beloved and powerful Ryan Reynolds has been coined a “villain” after Owens labeled him as such. For once, we’re witnessing powerful people who have been deemed “untouchable” fall from grace. Owens has successfully shown the general audience how Hollywood truly operates behind the scenes. Meanwhile, conservatives are showing empathy for the bleeding heart male-feminist that is Justin Baldoni, proving once again that Owens is uniting everyone.
Liberals usually hate her, but this past month, they have acknowledged Owens’ sharp, quick-witted, and informational videos. In the most entertaining way possible, Owens is revealing the hypocrisy of the elites and the manufactured narratives that shape public perception. This, in my opinion, is key to waking them up to the damage done by mainstream media’s lies. The best part is that the very person critics have accused of being divisive is bringing everyone together by sharing her truth.
While today appears to be the day Owens will “wrap up” the drama, I think she has solidified herself as the go-to source for groundbreaking stories. I’m sure she’ll revisit the IEWU drama again soon – or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part. As she said in one of her episodes this past week, "It all ends with us."
