Cardi B's music has always known to be inappropriate for children, particularly singles like "WAP," which is about women's genitals. She is a mother to two children with her husband Offset, who she married in 2017. She filed for divorce in 2020 but decided against breaking up and instead chose to work on the marriage. She doesn't talk much about her family and children in public, but on Monday she posted a series of tweets about the importance of protecting our kids against predators. Her thoughts coincided with the news of the Dalai Lama asking a young boy to suck his tongue at a public event in India.

Cardi B's career exploded in 2018, and that same year she gave birth to her daughter Kulture. Her son Wave was born in 2021. She has talked before about the fact that she doesn't like handing her children off to a nanny and instead utilizes her parents and family for help.

"They are older and don't have the same energy as someone in their 20s. I'm never far from my kids because that's my responsibility as a mother," she told Vogue Singapore.

On Monday morning, Cardi B tweeted a clear message to parents everywhere: "This world is full of predators. They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money ,power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them."

It wasn't clear at the time what exactly she was referring to, but many assumed that it was in reference to the viral video of the Dalai Lama, Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, kissing a young boy and asking him to suck his tongue at a public event. People everywhere were outraged and disgusted at his action, and he was forced to issue a statement expressing regret about what transpired.

Hundreds of people replied and thanked her for standing up for children. When a fan agreed and said that she was grateful for her parents being strict with her while she was growing up, Cardi B tweeted a response, "Yeup….No sleep overs nothing !!! [sic]"

She said as soon as you start potty training your kids, you should let them know that nobody should be touching their private parts or walking into the bathroom when they're in there alone.

She also quote tweeted a photo of the Dalai Lama with the young boy and said, "Man I'm telling yall [sic]."

In her most recent tweet on Monday afternoon, she expressed gratitude to her fans.

"Wow all this support I’m getting at the same time is beautiful. It was deep in my heart to talk about this cause me & my friend was talkin last night & then the dalai lama thing happen this morning …Thank you everyone..I just have to realize the people attacking me are just projecting [sic]."

By all account, it seems as though Cardi B is a protective mother who encourages other parents to keep a tight watch on their children. Regardless of where your children go to school or who they are in contact with, you never know what kind of threats are in the background.
