Chance The Rapper Caught Grinding On Woman And Slapping Her Butt At Carnival, Despite Being A Self-Identified Christian Husband And Father
A viral video of Chance the Rapper dancing inappropriately with a woman at Carnival calls into question his commitment to his wife and family.
Infidelity is not only commonplace in Hollywood, but almost expected. We have become desensitized to seeing singers, actors, and socialites cheat on their wife or husband and breaking up over infidelity. Some of the most famous celebrity couples are rumored to have broken up because of unfaithful behavior, such as Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. There are plenty of other husbands or wives who have been accused of infidelity, but they remained with their spouse despite the rumors (like Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel). Rapper Chance the Rapper is now under fire for his questionable actions during a trip to Jamaica.
Chance the Rapper Is a Self-Proclaimed Christian and Family Man
Chance the Rapper is currently a judge on the singing competition show The Voice. He's a rapper with hits like "Holy" with Justin Bieber and a robust following on social media. Chance the Rapper is also a self-proclaimed Christian who has been outspoken about his faith in the past; in fact, he identifies as a Christian rapper.
“I don’t make Christian rap, but I am a Christian rapper,” Chance told Teen Vogue in 2017. “When I was going out and trying to fully give glory to God, in my setting, I feared that people would be dismissive of it, like, ‘This is Christian rap; I’m not trying to hear it.’ But it’s the total opposite. People were very accepting of it.”
In 2020, Chance posted a celebratory Easter message on his Instagram. "'The wages of sin are death.' Thats heavy knowledge right there!" he wrote. "All of us are born into sin, BUT the son of God lived a completely sinless life, won the victory over satan in the garden, and STILL experienced death on the cross. All for us. Tmw I celebrate His victory over death [sic]."
In 2018, he even took a sabbatical to take a break from his music career and instead get closer to God. He announced the news on his Instagram, adding that he even quit smoking.
"I’m on a plane headed out the country on my first sabbatical. I’m going away to learn the Word of God which I am admittedly very unfamiliar with," he wrote in the caption. "I’ve been brought up by my family to know Christ but I haven’t taken it upon myself to really just take a couple days and read my bible. we all quote scripture and tell each other what God likes and doesn’t like but how much time do we spend as followers of Jesus to really just read and KNOW his Word. I’m definitely guilty of not devoting time to it. [sic]"
Chance married his longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley in March 2019, and they have two daughters together: Kensli, 7, and Marli, 3. The couple will occasionally share photos of their family and children while they're on vacation, celebrating a holiday, or lounging around the house.
Chance the Rapper Caught Grinding on Woman and Slapping Her Butt at Carnival
Because of Chance's claims about being a Christian family man, many people were perplexed to see a video of him grinding on a woman at Carnival in Jamaica. Carnival is a festival that is celebrated in various South American and Central American countries, and Chance attended the event in Jamaica. A video was shared across social media in which a scantily clad woman was twerking on Chance as he enthusiastically danced on her from behind, slapping her butt twice.
"Ain't he married?" some users asked. Many others in the comment section asked why the 30-year-old rapper, who is a father and husband, was even there at the event in the first place. Carnival is known for being a breeding ground for partying, drug use, and hookups. Others claimed that his actions were innocent and that Americans don't understand certain cultural differences. Nevertheless, it's worth asking why he is dancing this way on another woman if he has a wife and children waiting for him at home, especially considering the fact that he's a self-proclaimed Christian.
Chance's wife has turned off the comments on her Instagram posts, leading many people to believe that she was being bombarded with questions about her husband's actions. Chance has yet to comment on what took place in Jamaica.
