Could Randall Emmett Be The Next Harvey Weinstein? Or Even Worse?
Randall Emmett is a film producer and the ex-husband of actress Ambyr Childers, but to BRAVO fans, he is most notably the former fiancé of reality TV star Lala Kent from “Vanderpump Rules,” and it’s looking like he may become more infamous for all of the wrong reasons, based on allegations his exes are making against him.
It's safe to say that Randall Emmett is no stranger to controversy as he came onto the Vanderpump Rules scene making headlines as Lala’s married mystery man prior to his identity being revealed. He then found himself making national headlines a few years later due to a financial feud he had with former business associate and friend 50 Cent. And then he found himself in the midst of another relationship scandal when photos revealed that he had cheated on Lala with two young women in Nashville while on a business trip. Randall has recently made more national news, but this time for something far more sinister than cheating romantically or financially: sexual misconduct and alleged pedophilia.
Temporary Restraining Order Granted against Randall
Just last week, the LA Times published a story revealing that Randall’s ex-wife and mother to his two eldest daughters was granted a temporary restraining order against him out of fear for her safety. Ambyr Childers is an actress from the very popular Netflix show You, and was also featured in Ray Donovan and All My Children. To many, she is known as Randall’s ex-wife who was referenced throughout the early seasons of Vanderpump Rules as cast members alleged that Lala had begun seeing Randall while he was still married to Ambyr.
In addition to her temporary restraining order, Ambyr had also filed for sole custody of their daughters and declared in the petition that she was contacted by an FBI special agent who had asked her about Randall’s “suspected activities with child exploitation and pedophilia.” An FBI spokesperson told the LA Times that they were “unable to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation” per the department’s policy.
The LA Times contacted Ambyr, but she declined to comment on this story. However, the publication confirmed that three other individuals they had spoken to were also contacted by FBI agents regarding Randall’s activities. Ambyr’s domestic violence restraining order hearing is scheduled for January 12.
On Friday, Randall took to Instagram to defend himself, saying that he had tried taking the high road because he has three beautiful daughters, but he had to address the rumors being spread against him. He vehemently denied all allegations made against him and said that he received confirmation that the FBI was not investigating him, nor ever investigated him and his having custody of all his daughters proved that. He also blamed cancel culture for why people are able to say whatever they want and it becomes written about and is considered truth.
The Lala of It All
Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent put Randall in the spotlight when they started dating, got engaged, and had their daughter, Ocean, together, and has since kept him in the spotlight since their split when he was caught cheating on her with two girls in Nashville, TN. Lala has been a guest on several podcasts and spoken very openly about her ex on a variety of shows, as well as her own, called Give Them Lala, in which she has accused Randall of being a narcissist, a cheater, and insinuated that she has recently learned much more about who he is that is extremely sinister and dark. Lala has repeatedly said that she didn’t know who Randall actually was when they were together because he was a con artist who acted one way to her face and another way behind her back. Since their split, anonymous allegations have surfaced online regarding sexual misconduct between Randall and young women in the entertainment industry, although no one who has come forward has been identified yet.
“I never want my child to end up with someone like who I was with…And then I also feel like I have a duty to other women."
Lala was a recent guest on her co-star Scheana Shay’s podcast, in which she admitted one of her greatest fears was that Ocean would end up with someone like her father, Randall, who she has repeatedly said was “not a good person.” Lala defended her reason for being so public about her distaste for her ex by saying, “I never want my child to end up with someone like who I was with…And then I also feel like I have a duty to other women…I just hope that when she gets older, she looks at me and feels inspired and isn’t embarrassed.”
Lala has yet to directly address the pedophilia accusations made against Randall since the LA Times article was published last week. However, on a recent Instagram post, when one of her followers asked how Randall still had joint custody of their daughter, Lala responded with, “If you haven’t dealt with the family court system you wouldn’t understand,” alleging that she is seeking full custody of her daughter, which she has insinuated in other interviews.
Closing Thoughts
At this point, Randall Emmett has faced numerous allegations made against his character regarding his cheating on previous romantic partners like his ex-wife Ambyr and ex-fiancée Lala, as well as former business partners like 50 Cent. However, none of these past accusations compare to the allegations made about him regarding domestic violence, sexual misconduct, and pedophilia. While some accusers involved in Hollywood’s #MeToo movement were proven to have lied, there are also many accusers who have come forward and were proven to have told the truth in a court of law. The thought of another Hollywood producer abusing his power to sexually exploit women and, more specifically very young women, unfortunately doesn’t seem that far-fetched anymore.
While I personally am not a fan of Randall whatsoever, given his very public mishaps, I genuinely hope that these other accusations are not true simply for the sake of his three daughters, who are completely innocent in all of this. For now, it seems that he has been tried in the court of public opinion, but I hope that should any of these accusations be proven true that he is tried to the highest degree of the law.
If these accusations turn out to be true, Randall Emmett could be the next Harvey Weinstein, or worse. Only time will tell.
