Users are sharing their personal experiences, as well as some reasons why the hormonal changes during pregnancy might give moms an edge when it comes to beauty.

A user named Veronica shared the story of her mother, who was a self-described "average, slightly chubby plain Jane before she got pregnant."

Then she "became beautiful, losing all her facial fat after having four babies, starting at 30," continued Veronica. "This makes sense since progesterone, the face-beautifying, anti-stress, lip-plumping, eyelash-elongating hormone of YOUTH and vitality, goes TROUGH THE ROOF during pregnancy," she added. "In the optimal environment, getting pregnant is one of the healthiest things for a woman."

Many other users agreed with Veronica's assessment.

"I've seen many such cases," wrote one. "Yeah, my mom was pretty but she turnt hot after having me and my bro," wrote another. "Very true from what I’ve seen. Women get more beautiful w pregnancy and giving birth."

Other users pointed out additional potential benefits of pregnancy in some women, such as reduced pain during menstruation.

The Power of Progesterone

Progesterone, often hailed as a hormone of youth and vitality is known for its face-beautifying, anti-stress, and lip-plumping properties. It's true that during pregnancy, levels of this hormone skyrocket and create significant changes in a woman's physical appearance. These changes can include reduced facial fat, elongated eyelashes, and an overall glow often associated with pregnancy. Thus, from a purely biological standpoint, there is a foundation for the claim that motherhood can enhance one's physical allure.

However, some users disputed the claim that pregnancy increases a woman's beauty. "My mum was hotter before having 5 children and the stress that came with that." To that, Veronica responded by reiterating her point that "the ideal environment" is key.

Obviously, no one thrives in environments that are highly stressful, isolating, and full of environmental toxins, which is sadly becoming the norm for many American workplaces and households. The ideal environment would provide the necessary support, nutrition, and balance required for a woman to thrive during and after pregnancy. The realities of industrialization and modernization have significantly eroded these ideal conditions. Today, many mothers navigate a landscape marked by stress, pollution, inadequate nutrition, and a lack of support, all of which hinder the potential health and beauty benefits of pregnancy and motherhood.

Closing Thoughts

While there is a biological basis to the claim that becoming a mother makes many women more beautiful, it's also important to recognize that this added benefit of pregnancy requires rejecting the demands of our modern feminist culture and making decisions that optimize your life as a whole, not just your career. And, while being hot and feeling good is always a great bonus, the real goal is a world where every mother has the opportunity to thrive in health, beauty, and connection.
