Gabrielle Union "Felt Entitled" To Cheating On Her First Husband Because She Paid All The Bills
Actress Gabrielle Union was previously married to NFL player Chris Howard, and she admitted that she was unfaithful to him, saying that she felt "entitled" to infidelity because she earned more money.
You best know Gabrielle Union from the movie Bring It On, and she is currently married to retired NBA player Dwyane Wade. She has been criticized in recent years for enabling her stepson to live out a transgender lifestyle; he has changed his name and claims that he identifies as a girl. Union has made headlines once again after appearing on the "Armchair Expert" podcast with Dax Shepard and candidly talking about the infidelity in her first marriage.

Union said nothing really changed when she married her first husband, NFL player Chris Howard. Neither of them felt like their marriage should get in the way of their interests and normal activities. "I was like, 'Oh, that's what you're doing? Oh, you're gonna feel this one,'" she said. She also said that they both felt like their union shouldn't "get in the way of our dating." In other words, they were still sleeping with other people.
"I just felt entitled to it as well. I was paying all the bills, I was working my ass off and I felt like that's what comes, the spoils of riches," Union continued. "Like my dad, before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want is what I thought. It was just dysfunctional from day one."
"I definitely was not getting wife of the year awards," Union said. She told Dax she wishes she felt more guilt about her actions, but the whole marriage "was such a stupid relationship that should have never got out of the dating phase" so she didn't really feel bad about what happened.
She and Howard were married from 2001 to 2006, and Union married Wade in 2014. They share a 4-year-old daughter was born via surrogacy. Wade also has three other children from previous relationships.
Although Union admits her relationship was dysfunctional and she should have never married Howard, it's disappointing that yet another Hollywood celebrity speaks about infidelity so flippantly, as if it was just a normal part of a previous relationship that can be brushed off. Dax Shepard shared that he also was in an open relationship for nine years before he married actress Kristen Bell.
