Gina Carano Reveals That Lucas Film And Disney Put "Intense" Pressure On Her To Accept Woke Ideology

In a recent interview with Russell Brand, Gina Carano shared about Lucas Film and Disney's aggressive ideology as well as how she and Elon Musk teamed up to sue them over her unfair termination from The Mandalorian.

Gina Carano made an appeareance on Russell Brand's show, "Awakened Wonders" to discuss her current legal battle with Disney.

For those unfamiliar with the controversy, Carano was fired by Disney for criticizing political authoritarianism during the pandemic. The same day she shared an image highlighting the similarities between the tactics of progressive politicians and historical fascists, Lucasfilm announced, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

A month later, Disney’s former CEO explained that Carano’s views ‘didn’t align with Company values,’ including its ‘values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity, and values of inclusion.’”

In response, Carano announced in February that she was filing a case against them for wrongful discharge, sex discrimination, and refusing to hire her for roles already promised, including Season 3 of The Mandalorian, the new series Rangers of the New Republic, and planned future Star Wars full-length feature films (which have recently been announced). Her lawsuit is being funded in part by free speech activist, Elon Musk.

"How did it come about that Elon Musk said that he would support you?" Brand asked in Carano's latest interview.

"I understand that he broadly has a policy of supporting anyone who's persecuted as a result of things they've said freely on X," Brand added.

"There was an intense amount of pressure from Lucasfilm Disney to pretty much just push their own ideologies onto me, you know, and 'represent what we represent and say what we want you to say,' and then demonizing you when you didn't comply," Carano explained."

Disney has been ramping up their political activism for years, both on and off the screen, despite a lack of interest from their audience and a growing number of failed projects. Given that Carano's liberal castmates were able to freely post "controversial" images about conservatives while she suffered termination and slander, it's also obvious that political bias was at play.

"After [Elon Musk] put out that tweet...then I kind of went viral because the people that were paying attention, they were like, Gina Carano!"

"And I just said, 'I think I qualify' with a smiley face emoji. I got an email from the lawyer, and he said, we'd be interested in looking into your case," Carano added. "And still, all this time, I haven't spoken to Elon. I don't know him as a person. I just know what I see, and I appreciate what he's done for humanity at this very intense, crazy time."

Musk has continuously pledged his support to those suffering from censorship, particularly on X (formerly Twitter).

Carano’s lawyers argued that her statements didn’t have “anything to do with” Disney, Star Wars, or The Mandalorian and that she didn’t seek to “impose any message” on Disney or change its speech “in any fashion.” “Rather, Carano seeks relief for Defendants’ violation of laws of general applicability that do not, as applied here, inhibit or affect Defendants’ speech."

Carano’s lawyers claim Disney violated the California Labor Code provisions on political activity, engaged in "adverse actions against protected activity," and sex discrimination, particularly when compared to her male co-stars who posted “offensive and denigrating posts on social media directed towards Republicans and conservatives.”

Carano’s attorneys claim Disney tried to bully her into conforming to their views, and when that failed, they fired her. Ms. Carano asserts her social media posts were mischaracterized, resulting in lost representation and job opportunities.

Disney has tried repeatedly to dismiss Carano's case, but she shows no signs of backing down.
