Hailey Bieber Confesses 2023 Has Been A Difficult Year For Her: "My Mind And Emotions Have Been Fragile"

Hailey Bieber, formerly known as Hailey Baldwin, has been at the heart of an internet controversy for the last few months. Ever since her marriage to Justin Bieber, she has been pitted against Selena Gomez, Justin's ex, by various fans. When an old video resurfaced on TikTok of her gagging at the sound of Taylor Swift's name, Selena commented in defense of Taylor, only to promptly delete the comment after people had already screenshotted it. Around the same time, she created a lip sync TikTok with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye with the audio "I'm not saying she deserves it, but I'm saying God's timing is always right." The girls sip their drinks as the audio plays in the background. Hailey was quickly dubbed as a mean girl who was throwing shade at Selena, even after she claimed that "it's not directed at anyone."

There was also another questionable moment when Hailey and Kylie Jenner posted a screenshot of their eyebrows from a FaceTime call, where their eyebrows were easily visible. It didn't seem like much, but just before that Selena had posted a TikTok voicing some concern that her eyebrows were perhaps over-laminated (lamination is a process that lays down the eyebrow hairs to make them look fuller). It seemed very much like Hailey and Kylie were mocking Selena for her supposed eyebrow faux pas. Selena shortly after announced that she was taking a break from social media because she needed to focus on her own mental health—and things were getting a little "silly." But not long after that, Selena posted a message to her followers on Instagram basically asking them to back off and leave Hailey alone.

"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity," she wrote in her Instagram stories. "This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop." Hailey thanked Selena for sticking up for her and said that everything has been "extremely hard." She's back with another message for her followers about how difficult the last few months have been.

Hailey doesn't exactly have much support right now online, as most people in her comment sections are major Selena fans who want to make it very clear to Hailey that she isn't liked. In fact, the majority of comments on her photos and videos are negative, hostile, and even rude. "You are incredibly boring," one person commented on her last photo. "The world still won't choose you," another said. "Your sales are down. Nobody wants your sh*t products," another person said.

Hailey wrote a message on her Instagram stories telling people that she has had a difficult time since 2023 started with everything going on. "I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it's easier than admitting I'm having a hard time. But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I've ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least," she confessed. "And I know so many other people feel the way I feel, so just know you're not alone."

"That being said, let's keep being there for one another," she continued. "Let's be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers. Let's just be there for people. Let's keep showing up for each other even when it's hard. We're better together."

Twitter user @ThePopTingz shared the message on Twitter, and the majority of the comments indicate that they refuse to feel bad for her.

"Sorry but you get what you deserve if you act in a bad way against others that will come back to you no matter what," another said.

The hate for Hailey doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon, but she has made it clear that the whole thing has been difficult for her. Some are quick to point out that her own husband Justin hasn't come out in defense of her, but maybe he's just trying to stay out of the drama altogether.
