Haiti's Voodoo Culture Consists Of Sacrificing Cats, "Eating Animals, And Humans," According To Reports
Are Haitians in Ohio using cats and dogs for sacrificial purposes? Jack Brewer, who travels to Haiti to help build churches, suggests they are.
This past week has been dominated by posts about Haitians, pets, and an unfair debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
During a recent exchange with Harris, Trump made a startling comment about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, supposedly eating pets, sparking a wave of both support and critique from commentators and viewers. The news was first made by an Ohio resident who claimed on Facebook that their neighbor’s cat had been stolen by immigrants, only to be discovered hanging from a branch and being prepared for consumption.
The story quickly spread, with Ohio senator J.D. Vance weighing in on supposed pet abductions and consumption by immigrants. Springfield residents have also come forward, saying they're afraid for their lives and worry about their pets.
Caribbean men on social have said that they are almost positive that Haitians are taking animals, harvesting "cats for food" and for "voodoo purposes."
While there aren't any specific police reports about cats or dogs, there have been instances of immigrants stealing geese at parks. Ex-NFL player and philanthropist Jack Brewer supports Trump's comment, stating that he goes to Haiti for humanitarian purposes and has witnessed their voodoo practices firsthand.
"You have a big voodoo culture in Haiti that's just rampant," Brewer said in a NewsMax appearance.
"That's just the truth. And I think at some point in America, we have to get back to the truth," he continued. "And if you look at Kamala Harris' face [at the debate] there, she was looking at President Trump as if he was some madman who had lost his mind." Brewer believes that Harris "manipulated the American people" by denying Trump's statement about Haitians eating pets.
"You cannot deny the fact that in this country, in Haiti, people are living in desperation. There is a voodoo culture and a curse on the nation that no one can deny," he said.
Brewer hopes that Trump's team will do more research in the future to show proof for his statements to go against Harris's claims. Brewer goes on to say that Haitians aren't just eating cats and dogs, they're also eating each other – and claims he has video evidence of it. "You can point to facts that show that in Haiti, not just are they eating animals, but they're eating humans," he explained. "There's cannibalism in Haiti going on all the time. I have, literally, I have videos on my phone of people eating other people and sacrificing other people. And so no one can tell me that this doesn't happen, because my orphanages in the Christian organizations that I support on the ground are dealing with this mess in the country."
Earlier this year, Brewer led a private rescue operation to evacuate over 60 Americans from Haiti amid escalating gang violence and chaos. His foundation coordinated with several organizations to save American citizens using costly helicopter transfers and ground efforts to get people to safety.
Given Haiti's ongoing gang violence and its voodoo culture, is it really surprising that some Haitian immigrants won't assimilate and continue practicing their voodoo, such as animal sacrifice?
The claims of Haitians using cats and dogs for sacrificial purposes continue to spread like wildfire. A video circulating on X uploaded by @Highway_30 shows one man in a third-world country drinking a cat's blood while it's still alive. However, the user notes that they cannot confirm which country this footage is from. "I don’t know where this man is from and that’s not really the point. The point is there are cultures, other places in the world, that don’t share our customs," they wrote in the caption. "With an open border we can’t even be sure where anyone is coming from."
