German-born model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum may be 50, but she's still rocking it! The former Victoria's Secret Angel has been sharing her health secrets with her fans for a while now. Last year, she playfully declared she drinks her younger husband's blood like a vampire to maintain her youth. “I suck his young blood, is what I’m doing. Like a vampire," she said.

But all jokes aside, Klum's fit physique could be due to her healthy lifestyle and diet, which the mom of four had to address this week. According to The Daily Mail, the 50-year-old recently disclosed some of her meals in a Q&A session on Instagram.

The website claimed that Klum revealed her weight of 138lbs, eats a breakfast of three poached eggs in chicken broth, and keeps her diet to a maximum of 900 calories per day. Klum faced backlash on the internet following this announcement – because 900 calories a day for an extended period of time can lead to malnutrition, advice that ultimately wouldn't serve her 11.3 million followers.

"omg?? is that not just an eating disorder? 😕" writes @mattysfinds on X. The majority of the comments under his post consisted of one word: "yes."

Others on the platform mentioned how Klum's diet is reminiscent of Gwyneth Paltrow's, who previously admitted on the Art of Being Well podcast that her diet consisted of coffee, bone broth, and vegetables (though she later said she eats way more than this).

Klum is now bashing the reports that are claiming she eats very little. "I just got home, and some friends are sending me these articles that have been written that I only take in 900 calories,” she said in her Story. "One, I want to say, I don’t think I’ve ever had to count my calories in my life, and don’t believe everything that you read. So, I don’t count my calories."

Klum's reaction is completely understandable, especially if The Daily Mail lied. So far, I can't find screenshots or recordings of her explicitly stating she only ate 900 calories daily.

I don’t count my calories.

"Someone asked me how much I weighed, and I got on the scale and showed how much I weighed and, I don’t know, people just put things together and just write a bunch of crap," she clarified.

Klum added, "People just make up stories. One person writes it, and then everyone jumps on it." She also talks about how 900 calories is unhealthy and worries that people may follow it due to the fake news. She continued, "It’s really sad because, you know, people read that, and they think that and possibly follow that, and that’s not good for [them]."

Heidi Klum and Her Relationship with Food

Three years ago, Klum candidly talked about her relationship with food and how much it has improved. The '90s were tough on models, who were always under pressure to maintain their incredibly thin figures. Even Klum herself was turned down by fashion labels for being "too curvy" at the time. “In the beginning, I had to [be disciplined about food], and now I’m just so used to it,” she told Red Magazine. “There are so many choices, just pick the right things. Because then you don’t have the struggle.”

She continued, "Something that I’ve learned over the years is to be happier in the moment. I want to experience and love and live more in that every day and make that beautiful instead of wishing it away. But I don’t look back. I live in the present and prepare for what’s to come."

Moral of the lesson? Don't believe everything you read. Contrary to what The Daily Mail reported, Klum has disclosed in the past that she actually eats a good amount. "It's never really about the amounts; it's what you eat," she informed Buro24/7. "I think a lot of people think in order to look fit you can't really eat anything. I eat quite a lot; I just eat the right things. You just have to be focused and determined not to eat all the bad things. A lot of the time, it's not worth it – you know, you stuff yourself with all these extra calories that you know you don't need. I mean, if it was a yummy pavlova or ice cream I would want it, but there are certain things you can cut out."
