How The Left’s Echo Chamber Created A False Reality Of A Kamala Harris Victory

Leftists were shocked when Donald Trump crushed Kamala Harris in the election. The media sold them a false reality, and now they’re scrambling.

President Donald Trump has won against Kamala Harris by a landslide. Conservatives are on cloud nine, while leftists are having a meltdown. Many are quick to laugh at their distress, but can you really blame them? The media propped up Harris like she was destined to win. Celebrities endorsed her; everyone believed she would be our first female president. The media gaslit millions into believing she was ahead when, in reality, she didn’t stand a chance. Leftists were blindsided because they had been living in an echo chamber.

Echo Chambers and Biased Algorithms

We know and understand that our algorithm feeds us what we want to see. If you mostly lean one way, social media platforms will keep showing you content to affirm your biases. It’s unlikely for a Harris supporter to give their full attention to someone who’s voting for Trump (whether they’re right-wing or not) because their mind is already made up. Thus, they'll scroll past such content or never even come across opposing viewpoints because the algorithm keeps it that way.

My algorithm shows me everything because I'm interested in what both sides have to say. I’ve watched a lot of content these past few months from both the left and the right. I’m an avid observer; I enjoy watching people and their behavior. I saw many videos of women and astrologers insisting that Harris’ win was “written in the stars.” I saw their hopeful eyes, their excitement for the “era of women empowerment.” Experts at news stations projected that she would win and that her popularity soared. Her followers' enthusiasm only grew when celebrities, with their millions of followers, pushed people to vote for her. Everywhere you looked – on social media or any news channel – Harris was predicted to come out on top.

Unlike the left, who have a specifically curated algorithm with only liberal talking points, I witnessed people saying they weren’t voting for Harris just because she’s Black and a woman. Others said the Biden-Harris has failed them for the past four years, so why would they go through that again? I also watched gay people and trans women champion Trump. The mogul had a lot of support in 2020, but it felt like he had a larger, more diverse coalition this year. Today, there are movements like LGBTQ for Trump, Blacks for Trump, Latinos for Trump, etc. While Harris’ supporters might have fit into certain subculture boxes, those who backed Trump this time shattered typical stereotypes. Leftists may not want to face it, but it wasn’t just white men, women, and boomers who voted for him in this election.

Even more surprising was how many Republicans and conservatives left kind comments on posts from people you wouldn’t expect them to support. They thanked these people for doing their research and for joining the cause. It was surreal to read their thoughtful comments, especially after years of division.

That said, had the left not been chained to their echo chamber, they might have noticed more people within their own circles supporting Trump. Maybe then, the loss wouldn’t have come as such a shock. And perhaps if they had truly been as open and welcoming as they claim, they could have kept their people from leaving the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, the right seemed to realize that empathy could get them votes. By opening up dialogue with dissenters, they swayed more people to vote for Trump, leading us to this victory.

How the Left's Hostility Swayed People to Vote Red

Ken Carson, a gay influencer on TikTok, shared how relentless hostility from the left has shaped his past four years. "I have been harassed and bullied by liberals and the Democrat party simply because I'm a gay person that's voting for Trump," he said. The irony wasn’t lost on him, as he pointed out the hypocrisy in the left’s "inclusivity" rhetoric. "You do not support everybody. You do not care about everybody," he said, addressing leftists. "The second someone like me… has a different belief, you decide to attack them, degrade them, and bully them and try to silence them."

Carson described instances of people showing up at his home, harassing his family, and mocking everything he’s done online, all because he stood by his beliefs. According to leftists, support is conditional upon shared ideology, and any dissent is met with hostility rather than open dialogue.

When Trump won, liberals turned on POCs, particularly Latino voters. Redditors and X users went full-on racist. The so-called progressives posted, “Latinos fcking disgust me,” “f*ck Latino men.” One Redditor called Latinos “fcking idiots” who “don’t give a f*ck once they get their documents.”

Given leftists' irrational behavior and animosity toward Trump supporters, it’s tempting to mirror that hostility and bully them in return. However, I’m not interested in their game of ostracizing people for different views or telling them to “off themselves.” I believe the media has a role in stirring up that hostile behavior, and I urge everyone to rebel against such divisive tactics and stay grounded. Conservatives often criticize liberals for being impulsive and angry, so let’s not sink to that level. Instead, let’s focus on tangible issues that will actually bring about real change. Let's live in the real world and not in the fake reality the media has created.

Closing Thoughts

Right now, liberal women are afraid of losing their rights because the media has fed them that hypnotic affirmation. They’ve been told that they won't have control over their own bodies. Keeping this in mind, inform them why you voted red and why you believe Trump will make the country a better place for women. Because the only messages they hear are from media companies, who hire six-figure journalists who have no clue about the average American struggle. Remind them how they made it through Trump’s first term. Or how he made it clear that states should have the power to make their own decisions on issues like abortion, and how he's deporting illegal immigrants due to some of them raping and hurting women.

It may be difficult to open a conversation with a leftist since we’ve all been programmed to argue and get upset, but stay grounded. Vivek Ramaswamy does a great job listening to liberal-leaning students on campuses, asking them questions, and sharing his opinions without letting emotions take over. Even Charlie Kirk, whom I don’t always agree with, has done a good job engaging with students about their concerns. If they’re hostile and unwilling to have a conversation, simply move on.

Maybe I'm being overoptimistic, but I think if we listened to each other more and put our egos aside, we could tackle a lot of America’s issues. At the end of the day, Americans just want to be healthy, happy, not broke, free from government overreach, and to feel safe. We might have different bios on X or flags on our lawns, but we all want the same things in life. Hopefully, we can all get out of our bubbles long enough to see that.
