How To Copy Model Leah Halton's Viral Hot Girl Makeup
When Australian model Leah Halton casually shared her "natural but not natural" makeup routine on TikTok, little did she know it would spark a frenzy across social media platforms. With over 300 million views and counting, her quick makeup video captured the hearts of makeup enthusiasts worldwide, plus a few haters.
While most of the internet was fawning over Leah Halton on TikTok, some viewers were accusing her of "gatekeeping" the routine. Halton explained later that she was simply in a hurry and wanted the TikTok video to be short and cute. Fortunately for all of us, she has a YouTube channel full of makeup tricks and tutorials, product recommendations, and tons of funny, candid moments.
Using the tutorial she provided, we broke down her viral routine into 12 simple steps and included many of her favorite products.

Step 1: Prepare Your Canvas
Begin by clipping up your hair to keep it out of the way, then prime your skin using the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer ($46) to create a smooth base for your makeup. Halton says she's tried many different primers but often comes back to that particular one because of how well it hydrates her skin.
Step 2: Brow Perfection
For natural-looking brows, Halton uses the Benefit Fluff Up Brow Wax ($26). Since this look is all about "quick and simple," there's no need for a pencil, just shape and define those arches.
Step 3: Flawless Filter
Halton swears by the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($49). She says it's "better than foundation," providing a radiant blurred effect while still looking natural. Apply lightly all over and blend, especially making sure to blend down your neck. Halton also says to avoid blending under the eyes to prevent a cakey look. For blending, Halton uses a brush similar to the Hourglass Soft Flow Foundation Brush ($47).
Step 4: Conceal and Illuminate
Next, apply concealer strategically to the jawline, sides of the nose, corners of the eyes, and the middle of the forehead. Surprisingly, Halton barely blends her concealer during this step and explains the reason why is that she'll be adding more layers and prefers to blend them all seamlessly. Her go-to is the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer which is a drugstore favorite priced at $11.
Step 5: Sculpt and Glow
Next is cream bronzer for a sun-kissed look, and Halton chooses Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Cream Bronzer ($35). Apply to the upper forehead, upper cheeks, under the jawline, and the top of your nose rather than the base for a more lifted look, and then use any leftovers on your eyelids. Finally, add Patrick Ta Cream Blush ($38) to your cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and your eyelids before blending everything seamlessly.
Step 6: Set Your Base
Set your makeup with Givenchy Prisme Libre Powder ($60) using a triangle applicator ($8) from the side of the nose to the edge of the eye. Then, use a fluffy brush to apply powder all over the rest of your face. Halton said this particular setting powder was one of her absolute favorites.
Step 7: Enhance Your Features
This is typically where most makeup routines end, but Halton throws in a twist by going over her bronzer and blush again with powder products for added depth and longevity. Try this bronzing powder option ($26) and Halton's favorite powder blush from Kylie Cosmetics ($20). For powder products, Halton uses a brush similar to the Hourglass Veil Powder Brush ($65).
Step 8: Freckle Time
Next, Halton creates a cute smattering of freckles using different shades of brown eyeshadow and a precision brush, like the Airbrush Ultra-Fine Liner Brush #130 ($12). She emphasizes not being too perfect and symmetrical about it to create a more realistic effect.
Step 9: Lock It All In
Generously apply Hourglass Veil Soft Focus Setting Spray ($50) and let it dry to ensure your makeup lasts all day.
Step 10: Illuminate
Highlight the very tops of your cheeks, the inner corners of your eyes, and above your lip with your lightest shade of white for a radiant finish. Halton loves the Rare Beauty Highlighter ($25) in the shade Enlighten.
Step 11: Define Your Eyes
Use KVD's brown liquid eyeliner ($25) to create a winged look, and apply Hourglass Mascara ($32), focusing on moving the wand outwards rather than upwards for a more sultry effect.
Step 12: Perfect Your Pout
Save the lips for last! Line your lips with Kylie Cosmetics brown lipliner ($26), then fill in your lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk ($25) and blend for a natural, plumped look.
