Is Spa Your Love Language? Here Are 10 Last-Minute Self-Care Gifts That Every Girl Can Appreciate

If you're still shopping online for Christmas gifts, don’t sweat it if you order one of these and it doesn’t arrive by December 25. After all, there are 12 days of Christmas (or at least that's the reasoning you can use for your presents being a little tardy)! That being said, many of my recommendations can also be found at common retail stores like Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby, and Whole Foods, so you can get that gift wrapped and under the tree before Christmas morning if you need to.

These can be for that new girl friend you hit it off with, or for your sister who doesn’t like knick-knacks or clothes for presents, or your bestie (or *cough* yourself) who loves her spa routine. And who says you can’t screenshot this list to send to the man in your life as inspo for his gift to you (because he might need last-minute inspiration too!)?

1. Aromatherapy + Diffuser

Essential oils are always good to have on hand to add to a restful spa night at home. Plus, the EO diffuser can be placed in any area of the house or even possibly on your desk at work to keep the environment calm, clean, and peaceful. Amazon has diffuser options here and essential oils here. Another great EO company is doTerra, which has lots of combo scents available here, and uses clean, organic ingredients. If you need somewhere to grab these fast, Target and Walmart also carry essential oils and diffusers.

2. Skincare

I think we can all agree that skincare is more important than makeup. Healthy skin makes for a beautiful canvas and graceful aging, so every girl will appreciate a quality skincare product like a face mask or serum. Some good quality, organic skincare companies include True Botanicals, 100% Pure, OSEA, SkinCeuticals, Arbonne, Orgaid, and Burt’s Bees. Shop these brands at your local Target, beauty store, or even pharmacy.

3. DIY Sugar Scrubs

DIY sugar scrubs are easy to prep and make for a fun, unique spa gift! Especially in the cold wintertime, sugar scrubs are a gentler alternative to salt scrubs and can be applied to dry or cracked skin on the feet or as a face exfoliant. You can purchase good quality face scrubs at Whole Foods. Or, if you want to skip going to the store, a simple, DIY sugar scrub recipe needs just a few ingredients: 1 cup of organic brown or cane sugar, ¼ cup of olive oil, and 15-20 drops of essential oil (you can use one kind or make a blend of multiple). This sugar scrub looks oh so pretty in a glass jar (Hobby Lobby comes to the rescue) with some seasonal fabric, yarn, or a name tag on the top to decorate!

4. Scented Candles + Bath Bomb

The perfect combo for a luxurious bath experience! Find bath bombs at stores like Whole Foods or Bed, Bath, & Beyond. For a cozy combo, pair those with some scented candles; I’ve found some lovely candles at Target, TJMaxx, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. 

5. Signature Mug + Teas

Who doesn’t love a special mug to cozy up with? And adding some herbal tea flavors inside will be the perfect finishing touch! Find signature mugs at Hobby Lobby, TJMaxx, Target, Walmart, or online here at Amazon. Some of my favorite herbal teas are the Yogi and Traditional Medicinal brands which can be found at Whole Foods, as well as Trader Joe’s Moroccan Mint Green tea and Ginger Turmeric tea.

6. Flower Essences

Flower essences (especially rosewater) are gentle and enjoyable scents that can be used for relaxation, immunity, and energy; these can come in the form of face spray, body perfume/roll-on, or pillow spray for restful sleep! Check out Mario Badescu facial sprays here on Amazon, as well as Heritage Rosewater face mist on Amazon here. Pacifica also has some lovely, flower-scented roll-on perfumes, found at Target or here on Amazon. 

7. Mani/Pedi Kit

Although some prefer to keep their nails clean, many gals love how a good nail polish makes them look extra put-together. A cute box of nail polish and a gel machine would make a great little care package. If you know the gift recipient is a fan of pretty nails, this is sure to please! Some clean nail polish brands include O.P.I., found at Target, Walmart, and pharmacies, as well as on Amazon here, or Karma, found at Whole Foods, and Mineral Fusion, found at Whole Foods or here on Amazon. 

8. Spa Gift Box/Basket

Who says you can’t do a little bit of each of the above options? Any girl will love a care package full of spa goodies like face wipes, dark chocolate, some EO, a little candle or two, a bath bomb, some face masks, and a sugar scrub! 

9. Tens Therapy Machine

With a wide price range, this unique gift is thoughtful and useful; a tens machine is hand-held and can be used to relieve muscle spasms (and is safe even for pregnancy pains/labor contractions) and give massage-like circulation to the applied area of your body. 10. Massage Gun

Although it can be a bit higher on the price range (though some can be very affordable), this gift is sure to be appreciated! You can buy massage guns here on Amazon or the real deal Theragun from Therabody. Help the ladies in your life relax and unwind after a stressful day with a massage gun they can bring with them everywhere!
