Justin Bieber Reacts To P. Diddy’s Arrest As Disturbing Videos Resurface
Sean "Diddy" Combs became Justin Bieber's "mentor" when he was only 15. Here is how the "Baby" singer is handling the news of his mentor's arrest.
Sean "Diddy" Combs' recent arrest on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering has sparked concerns about Justin Bieber, who was only 15 when he was taken under Diddy's wing. With Bieber being a minor at the time, many are now taking a closer look at their past relationship and questioning what truly went on behind the scenes.
Videos of a visibly nervous Bieber being confronted by Diddy for not staying in touch have resurfaced, along with footage of the rapper tapping the young singer as if checking to see if he was wearing a wire.
Having looked up to Diddy as a mentor and collaborator in his early career, Bieber is now left reeling from the shocking allegations against the man who mentored him on his journey to fame. According to the DailyMail, Bieber was affected by the arrest, with one insider revealing, “Justin is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it, so he has shut off.” The source mentioned that many key figures in Bieber’s life – who all reportedly had connections with Diddy – have also been shaken by the news.
Things get even more unsettling when you consider Diddy's strange history with Bieber. In a recently resurfaced video, a teen Bieber can be seen standing beside the then 40-year-old Diddy, who tells the camera that he "can't really disclose" what he and Bieber would be doing together later. "He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we're doing we can't really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream," Diddy says, even adding that he was "given custody" of the young singer by his mentor, Usher. The footage, once brushed off as playful banter, has taken on a much darker tone given Diddy's current legal troubles. What was it that Diddy was doing with a child that he couldn’t tell us?
On September 16, Diddy was arrested in New York City. With multiple failed attempts to secure bail, the disgraced rapper is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Federal agents apprehended him after a grand jury indictment, which was initially sealed but then revealed the severity of the charges – sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy's attorney, Marc Agnifilo, maintains his innocence.
Bieber reportedly regrets collaborating on Diddy's 2023 album, The Love Album: Off The Grid, where he was featured on the track “Moment.” If he'd known about these allegations, sources claim he would've steered clear. The insider mentioned, “Justin now wishes he hadn’t participated, and he’s really been wrestling with that decision.”
Yet, in the midst of all this turmoil, Justin's personal life is providing a bit of solace. The arrival of his newborn son, whose birth was announced just last month, has become his main priority. According to PEOPLE, “He’s aware of Diddy’s arrest and all the allegations. But it’s not anything that he wants to focus on, though.”
They added, “He just wants to focus on being a great dad and husband."
