Three days ago, Bieber posted a carousel that included a photo of him looking down in a snow-dusted hoodie, an old childhood photo, and a shot of a baby underneath a stack of shipping containers. His caption read, "I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh."

Given the timing, fans wasted no time speculating whether this was a not-so-subtle response to Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s new album. Gomez’s lyrics on the track "Don’t Wanna Cry" certainly seem to be directed at an ex. "I know that I said I'd forgivе you once, but baby / It's been a hundred times, and I still crawl back for more," she sings.

Her lyrics sounds like a response to Justin Bieber's "Sorry": "I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice / And by once or twice, I mean maybe a couple of hundred times."

However, not everyone believes that Bieber's post is about his ex-girlfriend.

The Internet's Theories

It didn’t take long for social media to spiral. Most believe that Bieber's post is alluding to child sex trafficking. One user on X summarized the theory, writing, "Justin Bieber posted a photo of himself as a child and a photo of shipping containers with a baby in the picture on his Instagram page. In his post he sadly wrote he has anger issues but he wants to grow and not react so much."

She further speculated, "We know he’s a victim but is he telling us he was also trafficked in shipping containers or just trying to expose this happens?" She even linked Bieber’s post to Avicii’s 2015 "For a Better Day" music video, which depicts child trafficking. "Pray for Justin especially for healing for him," she added.

The Diddy Connection

The timing of Bieber’s post also coincides with the resurfacing of some unsettling footage involving his former mentor, Sean "Diddy" Combs. Diddy, in case you missed it, was arrested on September 16, 2024, on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. He’s currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Bieber was only 15 when Diddy took him under his wing, but no one has forgotten about their weird dynamic. In one resurfaced clip, Diddy can be seen joking about having "48 hours" of undisclosed activities planned with the teen singer. "He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we're doing we can't really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream," Diddy says in the video.

According to Daily Mail, Bieber has been "disturbed" by the arrest and is refusing to discuss it. "Justin is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it, so he has shut off," a source told the outlet. The same source claimed that Bieber regrets working with Diddy on his 2023 album, The Love Album: Off The Grid. "Justin now wishes he hadn’t participated, and he’s really been wrestling with that decision," they added.

The "Yummy" Video Resurfaces

Bieber’s 2020 "Yummy" music video is also back in the conversation. Fans have long speculated that the video, with its scenes of adults feasting on a plate with Bieber's childhood photo on it, is a dark message about the entertainment industry.

Fueling the theory is behind-the-scenes footage showing Bieber crying on set.

Is the singer really trying to tell people something about the entertainment industry? Or are social media users simply "reaching?"
