Will There Be Any More "Uncontrolled" Interviews With Kamala Harris After Her Disastrous Appearance On Fox News?

In a move that surprised many, Kamala Harris' handlers allowed her to be interviewed by Bret Baier on Fox News last night. Less surprisingly, the result has them regretting that decision.

Kamala Harris has faced widespread criticism for her reluctance to engage in direct interviews and public discussions, especially given that she hasn't actually won any votes to secure her place as the Democratic nominee. Since the Democratic Party has essentially foisted her onto voters without much transparency regarding her policies or plans, this lack of direct engagement stands in contrast to Donald Trump, who has been aggressively conducting interviews on a wide variety of platforms and holding rallies across the country.

Her appearance on Fox News came as a surprise for many, given her history of avoiding media confrontations. This rare interview raised questions about her strategy, as it highlighted the difference between her vague campaign versus Trump’s highly visible one.

The pacing of the interview felt awkward and strained. Harris seemed intent on filibustering, offering long-winded, rehearsed answers to avoid delving into policy specifics. Bret Baier, aware of the limited time, was under pressure to cut through the filibuster and extract meaningful answers, leading to frequent interruptions and disjointed exchanges. This dynamic created a tense, uneven rhythm that viral clips don't fully capture. Despite the choppy flow, Baier's questions hit hard, leaving Harris exposed when she struggled to move beyond prepared talking points.

Overall, the interview was riddled with cringeworthy moments and her trademark word salads, but a few stood out and got people talking.

Connection to Biden's Failed Policies

Both Harris and Biden have repeatedly stated that she was involved in every significant decision of the administration. Harris has had the chance to distance herself from Biden's record but instead doubled down, saying she wouldn't change a thing. This admission suggests that, if elected, the next four years under her leadership would be a continuation of the same policies—policies many critics argue have failed.

Economic Policy

Harris essentially said she had the backing of elites who "understand" economics, showing no empathy for struggling Americans facing skyrocketing mortgage payments. This moment revealed how the Left is increasingly post-argument—dismissive of those who disagree, labeling dissenters as either ignorant or racist. Her tone underscored a broader perception that leftist elites are detached from average citizens.

Donald Trump Obsession

Kamala Harris also faced heavy criticism for constantly pivoting to blame Donald Trump. One of the most disturbing moments was when she was shown a clip of Jocelyn Nungaray’s mother condemning Harris' immigration policies after her daughter was raped and murdered by illegal aliens. Harris offered a half-hearted apology, then immediately deflected by saying, "But let’s talk about Trump."

Overall Tone

Many on social media said her demeanor throughout the interview—mean, snarky, evasive, and often irritated—made her appear unprepared and disingenuous.

These moments encapsulated both the tone-deafness of her campaign and the growing divide between the political elite and everyday Americans.

"The interview is a metaphor for her entire candidacy," observed commentator Steve Deace. "She actually starts out strong (for her) with a prepared filibuster of talking points on immigration (almost entirely out-of-context bunk in terms of substance but she executed them)."

"Just as she started stronger than expected as a candidate performing her party's scripted talking points," he went on. "But just like we are seeing now with her campaign, once she is compelled to move past the script there's [nothing] actually there. Once she is challenged on any level she's incapable of adulting. Either because her side's record on every meaningful issue is so bad she either has to deflect to Orange Man Bad on all things, or because she lacks depth (or a little bit of both)."

"She can't sidestep her and Biden's record," added The Blue Collar Intellectual on X. "No talking point is safe, and all receipts were brought. Kamala owns these failures. Biden said she was a part of every major decision. She said the same. When given a golden opportunity to walk away from it during her spot on@TheView, she doubled down by saying she'd do nothing differently. If she sees nothing, she would change, and then we can expect the next 4 years to be the same, if not worse."

Author Gad Saad also shared his thoughts on the interview: "To reiterate, she is the kid who never read any of the book reports but always found a way to scam through all of the assignments using a wide assortment of duplicitous strategies. As she 'answered' each question, her only thought process was 'what do I need to do to scam the people standing as a final obstacle to this ultimate book report.' She is void of a personhood; void of charm; void a mind; void of any knowledge; void of eloquence; void of humor; a truly empty suit."

According to Baier, her team reportedly pulled the plug, recognizing the severe damage. Now, her allies in the media are crying racism and sexism, attempting to shift the narrative. However, the damage has been done.

Harris' evasive, defensive responses—blaming Donald Trump for nearly every issue and offering little substantive policy discussion—left many questioning her ability to lead. The optics of her team's abrupt exit, combined with the media’s attempts to shift blame, only intensified the fallout from her poor performance.

Speculation that she might appear on The Joe Rogan Experience has now been largely dismissed, with many saying it will never happen after this performance.
