Kim Kardashian showcased a stunning transformation on the latest cover of CR Fashion Book's 10th-anniversary issue, leaving her almost unrecognizable with a radical new hairstyle: a fuzzy pixie cut, presumably a wig. Because let's face it, Kim is far too vain to ever shave her hair off. The reality star, famed for her long, flowing locks, surprised her followers with the spiky makeover. This marks a significant change from her first appearance on the cover in 2013 when she was pregnant with North West, signaling a decade of evolving fashion and beauty explorations for Kardashian.

Photographed by Nadia Lee Cohen, Kardashian complemented her dramatic haircut with thin eyebrows and high-end fashion pieces. She donned various looks, including a stained white tank top, a sheer black bra, a chunky red sweater with a white tutu, and ballerina flats. In one of the photo shoots, Kardashian was also seen wearing a bejeweled Margiela mask that completely shielded her face. These photographs marked a pivotal moment, showing her willingness to experiment with different fashion statements and echoing her dynamic approach to style.

Kim’s journey in fashion is tightly intertwined with her personal life, marking her collaborations and appearances in high-profile fashion events and magazines, including several Vogue covers and Met Galas. She has actively participated in brand campaigns for major fashion houses and recently creative directed Dolce & Gabbana's spring/summer 2023 show at Milan Fashion Week in September 2022.

Reflecting on her experience, Kardashian acknowledged the significance of such opportunities in the fashion realm, expressing her excitement over exploring her independent venture in fashion products. She emphasized how such experiences took her "outside of my comfort zone," requiring a different skill set compared to her familiar role in managing her brand, Skims. She pointed out her insights into what people desire to wear and how her evolving role in the fashion industry marked a learning curve in understanding and mastering her sense of style.

When asked in the interview about what she thinks makes a person an icon, she responded, "An icon to me is someone who fights for what they want and goes after their dreams and makes them happen. Someone who is so unapologetically themselves but maintains the kindness and warmth I connect to." She also shared that her ultimate celebrity crush is JFK, Jr.

Carine Roitfeld, the founder of CR Fashion Book, praised Kardashian's beauty and work ethic in an interview with Time Out London, drawing parallels between her controversial appeal and that of iconic personalities like Marilyn Monroe. Roitfeld highlighted Kardashian's flexibility and willingness to step out of her comfort zone, expressing her adaptability to different fashion pieces, a trait that reportedly made her "the easiest model."

It's easy to see that Kardashian decided on this magazine cover in an attempt to highlight her relentless pursuit of fashion excellence. However, although the photo shoot is being lauded by voices in the industry, many fans and bystanders are not impressed with the look. In one of the photos, her lipstick and mascara are smudged on her face, as if she has been crying. These shots also show ultra-thin eyebrows that were more popular in the 1990s. People insist that the ensemble simply didn't work.

Others pointed out that this look is eerily similar to the current style of Bianca Censori, the new wife of her ex-husband Ye (formerly known as Kanye West). Censori has been sporting the short pixie cut for months now, and it looks very much like the wig that Kardashian was wearing in the CR Fashion Book photo shoot.

Some called it a "Rose McGowan look" or even a "yassified Eleven" (from the popular Netflix show Stranger Things). Nobody can deny it's a very different turn from the photo shoots that Kardashian is known for. She usually goes for all-out glam, a bombshell look, or nudity. Her Paper Magazine cover in 2014 is one of the most iconic in the history of magazine publishing, instantly going viral and "breaking the internet," as intended. The cover featured Kim in a provocative pose, balancing a champagne glass on her protruded posterior, highlighting her famous curves, with the nude version leaving nothing to the imagination. The highly stylized Jean-Paul Goude shot was both praised for its boldness and criticized for its objectification, sparking widespread debates about body image, empowerment, and the role of nudity in media, illustrating Kardashian's unparalleled impact on pop culture and media trends.

At least this time, Kardashian is more concerned with a forward-thinking fashion look rather than taking off as much clothes as possible for the camera. The mystery remains whether she was attempting to put a spin on her ex's new wife's look, but the internet certainly doesn't believe it was an accident.
