Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Is Choosing To Dress Less Sexy

Kim Kardashian is famous for her hourglass figure (among many other things) and has never shied away from taking risque bikini photos. But now the business mogul and mom of four has had a change of heart.

Keeping Up with Kim

Kim has made headlines for being "too sexy" for quite some time. On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kanye admitted to his wife, "I made this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls, looking at my wife. Like, 'Oh, my girl needs to be like the other girls, showing her body off.' I didn't realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that's married and loved, and the father of now, what — about to be four kids?"

"A corset is like a form of underwear. It's hot. It's like, it's hot for who, though?" Kanye asked the night before Kim's Met Ball appearance. Obviously, she was frustrated because it's kind of awkward to get ready for an award show for months and get told the night before that the dress isn't right.

Kim addressed their argument on The Real, “He is my husband so I obviously want to honor him and what he’s feeling, and he’s been going through this life change. It’s mostly about the kids. The kids are getting older, and he’s very conscious about what we have in the house."

While Kim hasn't completely given up her old persona, she did admit, “I actually agree with it, but I’m always going to be me. We were having this conversation of just, what is too much? And I am a mother of four, and I am going to be 40 next year. When is it time to stop?”

A New Look

In an interview with The Cut, Kim admitted that she had been dressing less "sexy" recently. "I think I have a little bit. I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that. I listen to him and understand him. Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want."

Working with the White House

Kim Kardashian has also been actively involved in prison reform. She's been to the White House and worked with the President to free A$AP Rocky and sign the First Step Act.

"I also did think, like, Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie. And I was thinking, I hope they don’t see this. I have to go back there next week."

Closing Thoughts

While I'm not sure "sexy" is the word I'd use for Kim's often overkill fashion choices, I hope this starts a new conversation in culture. A conversation where women realize that baring all has become so...basic. Like the unoriginal risque Halloween costumes that flood Instagram every October. Kim seems to be turning over a new leaf when it comes to her image, and I'm totally here for it.
