Kim Kardashian Says She's In Her "Actress Era" But She Only Has "10 More Years" Of Looking Good
In a candid conversation with friends during a recent episode of "The Kardashians," Kim Kardashian disclosed her ambitious plans for the next decade, which include fully breaking into her "actress era."
Kardashian, 43, opened up to a group of friends about her hopes for the future in the latest episode of "The Kardashians."
“I can do a movie a year," she explained. I’ve got about ten years where I still look good, so that’s all I’ve got in me and then I’ll take some time off. That's my 10-year plan."
In ten years, she'll be 53. Online, some celebrated her declaration, calling it "self-awareness," while others said it's an arbitrary timeline, especially given that many actresses over 50 look great and continue to act. Some said it's sad that she (as well as most of the Kardashian family) believes her worth is contingent on looking youthful.
Kardashian also expressed concerns about how her use of Botox might affect her ability to convey emotion on screen.
“I also feel like you need less Botox for more emotion, and I don’t have it. I’m not going to be gaining 500 pounds for a role and losing it…that’s just not where I need to be. How am I gonna cry? How am I gonna be scared out of my mind?"
Despite her self-imposed deadline, Kardashian's entrance into acting has been met with both excitement and skepticism.
Known primarily for her reality TV stardom and entrepreneurial pursuits, she has previously dabbled in films such as Disaster Movie and Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, as well as numerous television cameos playing herself on shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "30 Rock."
She made her biggest splash in 2023 when she took on a recurring role in American Horror Story: Delicate, playing an entertainment publicist named Siobhan.
Now, Kardashian has revealed that she sold a comedy called The Fifth Wheel to Netflix with the help of two collaborators. Kardashian will have a leading role as well as a producing title. She says that despite her self-doubt, offers started rolling in immediately after pitching her idea to five different studios.
"Everyone called within 20 minutes with offers, it was really cool. The offers they're bringing my way, I'm like, 'You think I can do that? I can't do that,'" she told her friends over dinner, before noting in a confessional, "How do they know I can do it? Now the pressure's on because I'm like, 'Oh s---, this is happening,' I'm tripping the f--- out low-key because I have to really do this and I have to deliver."
"If it happens and it works out, I will feel really accomplished and feel really fulfilled, but who knows?" she said of the film, which she described as a mix of The Hangover, Bridesmaids, and First Wives Club. "This is just new to me, I'm a little bit green to this."
Looking forward, Kardashian says she's committed to challenging herself with each new project.
"I think it's really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow," she said at the time. "I'm so excited for the experience."
