Kim Kardashian Shows Support For Melania Trump

Kim Kardashian posted a photo of First Lady Melania Trump to her Instagram Story. 

Melania just attended President Donald  Trump’s inauguration today. She wore a navy blue trench coat by New York designer Adam Lippes, perfectly complemented by a brimmed hat from Eric Javits.

Social media users, particularly those on X (formerly Twitter), went into full meltdown mode. One user, @filmlogkartmind, tweeted, “U know what Kim f*ck you too.” This sentiment echoed across numerous tweets, showcasing the internet’s capacity to go from 0 to 100 over an innocent IG post. The backlash against Kim’s post brings up an interesting contradiction. Liberals on social media, who often preach inclusivity and “supporting women,” were quick to slam her for showing even a shred of positivity toward Melania. Is it only okay to support women who align with certain political beliefs? The hypocrisy is hard to ignore.

It’s no secret that the Kardashians have faced rumors of being conservative in recent years. Last month, Kim posed with Tesla’s $30,000 humanoid robot in a photo shoot that looked straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster. It seemed like Kim was supportive of Elon Musk. 

Khloé Kardashian also joined the Musk-adjacent chaos by announcing her upcoming video podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land. In a statement, Khloé said, “This podcast will allow me to explore so many powerful topics, like love, healing, and happiness, and X is the perfect platform to share my curiosity and wonder.” 

Whether you love them or love to hate them, the Kardashians are masters at staying relevant. Kim’s Melania post may have ruffled feathers, but it’s not like the family’s fanbase is unfamiliar with controversy. And while it’s easy to dismiss her Story as tone-deaf or attention-seeking, it’s equally possible that she’s leaning into the chaos on purpose. If there's one thing we're sure of, though, it's that Melania's style is impeccable.
