Lindsay Lohan Makes Iconic "Mean Girls" Reference In Selfie Post: "I’m Not A Regular Mom, I'm A Postpartum Mom"
Actress Lindsay Lohan posted a mirror selfie to show off her postpartum body after giving birth to her baby boy.
The Mean Girls actress rose to fame as a child star in the late '90s and early 2000s, only to face various personal struggles throughout her career. Lindsay Lohan come a long way since then, and we're incredibly happy for her!
Lindsay Lohan and hubby Bader Shammas welcomed their first child, Luai, in July 2023. The Freaky Friday actress opened up about her recovery in an Instagram post and proudly showed off her postpartum physique. "I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery," she wrote.
"Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world! My OOTD lately is my @fridamom postpartum underwear. Because I’m not a regular mom, I’m a postpartum mom. #fridamompartner," she joked, referencing a quote from her hit movie Mean Girls.
Lohan's mother, Dina, proudly acknowledged her daughter's beauty and commented, "You look beautiful with a mommy’s glow 🙏🏻🦋he is so gorgeous and such a beautiful gift to us all ….. what a beautiful thing I saw as you and our lil blessing bonded …… miracles happen my love 🙏🏻"
The new mom first announced she was expecting her baby in March this year when she shared a onesie on Instagram that read "coming soon..."
"We are very excited for our new family member to arrive, and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives!" she told TMZ.
“I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom," she told Allure, adding, “Happy tears. That’s just who I am. Though now, it’s probably baby emotion.”
There now seems to be a significant shift toward self-acceptance and embracing motherhood. In the '90s and early 2000s, there was significant pressure on female celebrities to conform to unrealistic beauty standards, often centering around being incredibly thin. Now, thanks to social media and the support of other women, stars can proudly embrace their postpartum bodies and be a mom.
“Lindsay Lohan and her financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai,” Lohan’s rep informed People. “The family is over the moon in love.”
