Margot Robbie Paid Off Her Mother's Mortgage As A Thank You For Supporting Her: "You'd Do That For Your Mom"

Margot Robbie, the Hollywood superstar known for her roles in films like The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad, and I, Tonya, has come a long way in her acting career. Her latest role as the iconic Barbie doll has catapulted her into an even newer level of stardom. It's estimated that Robbie was paid $12.5 million for her role in the Greta Gerwig film and her overall net worth hovers around $40 million. But it seems like this money is best used on her family. She recently revealed that she paid off her mom's mortgage as a thank you.

Margot Robbie Paid Off Her Mother's Mortgage as a Thank You for Supporting Her

Robbie's mother, Sarie Kessler, was a vital supporter of her daughter's dreams when she first started her acting career in Hollywood. She took money from her house mortgage to lend to Robbie to assist her in her early days on the job. Robbie was always determined to pay it back, and she kept a record of what she owed. She thought to herself, "I gotta pay that back." One day, she made enough money to do so, and she "just paid that whole mortgage off completely."

"I was like, 'Mom, don't even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn't even exist anymore,'" Robbie said. "Honestly, anyone in my position, you'd do that for your mom. Of course you would."

Robbie's mother, Sarie Kessler, lives in Australia, where the average cost for a home as of early 2023 was $1.25 million AUD, which roughly equals to $822,000 USD.

This act of kindness isn't an isolated incident for Robbie. Her generosity extends beyond her family and into her professional life as well. Her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling shed light on another aspect of Robbie's benevolent nature.

"Margot had this pink day once a week [on the Barbie set], where everyone had to wear something pink. And if you didn’t, you were fined," Gosling recounted. "She would go around collecting the fines, and she would donate it to a charity."

Robbie is known to express her gratitude for her immense success in Hollywood. She knows that she's deserving of the recognition, but she also recognizes that she has had some breaks along the way that made a big difference in her success.

"I know I'm hardworking and blah, blah, blah, but I'm also the luckiest, luckiest, luckiest person in the world," she said. "Every time that I did something I was like, 'Now it's the top. It will never get better than this.' And then somehow it's just kept getting better and better."

It's always cute when celebrities show their unwavering support for their parents after they've made it big. The Rock, Rihanna, and Leonardo DiCaprio are all known to spoil their mothers by bringing them on the red carpet in full glam, buying them decadent houses, and financially supporting them so they never have to worry about a bill again. It's no surprise that Robbie, who has always come off as a kind, relatable person, would join the ranks of these A-list celebrities and give back to her mother. Robbie has said in the past that her mother had so much faith in her and always supported her dreams, even when things got tough. No wonder Robbie went from a girl who grew up on the Gold Coast to a superstar actress—and one of the most beautiful women in the world.
