Matthew McConaughey met his gorgeous model wife, Camila Alves, in 2006. The two lovebirds first crossed paths at a Los Angeles club, where McConaughey instantly took notice of her.

McConaughey recalled their meeting in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, "In my head, I was like, 'This is not the kind of woman you call over across the room, McConaughey. Go get your *ss out of the chair and go get her.' Which I did."

They tied the knot in June 2012 in a private ceremony in Texas, and they're still going strong. McConaughey and Alves share three children. Their first child, Levi, was born in July 2008. Then came their daughter, Vida, in January 2010, followed by another son, Livingston, in December 2012.

The Serenity star has always been vocal about his love for his family and the importance of a father's presence. “Best thing you could probably do as a father is make sure they see how you love their mother," McConaughey told InStyle.

He continued, "The secret to being a husband? Look, I’ll say this: Neither one of us has really tried to change the other one. We got into our relationship because we really admired and were turned on by who the other person was before we met them, before we got together. And we do not try to change each other. If anything, she pushes me to be more of myself, and I hope I do the same for her.”

Love that McConaughey is living out his dreams! In 2021, he revealed that ever since he was young, he knew what he wanted to be: a dad. “The only thing I’ve ever known I’ve wanted to be, since I was eight years old, 100% knew it, clear, natural law, was to be a dad," he said. "I always knew I wanted to be a dad. I’ve always revered that as the greatest thing a man can do, be a father. It’s the greatest privilege and the greatest responsibility.”
