Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher Launch A "Stand With Ukraine" Fundraiser And Have Already Raised $3.7 Million
Little known fact: Mila Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983 and her family moved to the US when she was only eight years old. In line with her roots, Mila has decided to do some fundraising to help her home country survive the Russia invasion.
Mila and Ashton have always been known for their philanthropic efforts, and now they're teaming up to offer aid to the Ukrainian whose lives are being devastated by Russia's invasion.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Started a GoFundMe For Ukraine
The married couple has teamed up with GoFundMe to raise money to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. Their goal is to raise $30,000,000 and they have pledged to match up to $3 million.
"Today, I am a proud Ukrainian," Mila wrote. "While my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need. This unjust attack on Ukraine and humanity at large is devastating and the Ukrainian people need our support."
Mila also said that "we are witnessing the bravery of Ukrainians," but "we are also bearing witness to the unimaginable burden of those who have chosen safety."
So far the campaign was raised $3.7 million and it seems to be growing by the hour. Mila promises that all the donations will "provide an immediate impact on refugee and humanitarian aid efforts," benefitting Flexport.org and Airbnb.org, organizations that " are actively on the ground providing immediate help to those who need it most."
She and Ashton are asking for every bit of support people can offer as they support Ukrainian refugees.
