New York Magazine Reveals New Kamala Harris Cover And The Comments Are Wild
New York Magazine's latest cover story on Vice President Kamala Harris has thrown the mainstream media's bias into the spotlight yet again.
The cover, featuring Harris with the headline "Welcome to Kamalot," has been ridiculed for its irony as well as for the sharp contrast in the way New York Magazine chose to cover stories about RFK and Donald Trump.
The magazine’s announcement read: "Welcome to Kamalot! Our new issue grapples with the two weeks that reshaped the 2024 election—and the thrill of taking a risk on Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee."
This bold statement was met with deep skepticism, illustrating the polarized views on Harris's sudden ascent to the Democratic nomination following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race. Stephen Miller of The Spectator remarked, "The play on words is about a fictional monarch who no one under their rule also voted for," highlighting the undemocratic nature of Harris’s nomination process.
The Democratic Coalition, on the other hand, embraced the cover enthusiastically, tweeting, "Kamalot - we love it! Kamala Harris has energized the Democratic Party in the space of one week like nobody has ever seen."
Alternatively, independent journalist Jessica Reed Kraus shared some photos of the magazine's previous covers with the caption, "We're onto you, @nymag."
This stark contrast underscores the deep partisan divide fueled by the aggressive left-wing bias of mainstream media outlets.
Critics argue that the timing and tone of the story are indicative of a broader trend of media outlets rallying behind Harris in the wake of Biden’s departure. The vice president's past controversies, including her role as the border czar, have been notably downplayed in recent coverage. This shift in narrative, critics contend, is a deliberate effort to bolster Harris’s image as she prepares to take on a more prominent role in the Democratic Party.
The manner in which Harris has been catapulted to the forefront of the Democratic ticket has not escaped criticism from across the aisle, either. BLM raised the alarm, calling Democrats "the party of hypocrites," and this sentiment resonates with many who acknowledge the sudden shift in Democratic leadership as a top-down decision rather than a reflection of the electorate's will.
"I voted Biden / Harris in 2020," explained one user on Kraus' Instagram post. "I voted for Hillary, Obama, and for every other Democrat running both locally and nationally since 1999. I’ve lived in Seattle for almost 20 years and I’m from NY and yet even I am so over the bullshit from the Democrat party. I’m voting Trump in 2024 and I’m not losing a night of sleep over it."
