Is inked skin officially out? Celebrities are either removing or covering up their tattoos, including Pete Davidson.

Is Hollywood in its tattoo-removal era? Pete Davidson, once covered from head-to-toe in ink, has officially lasered off his tats (almost 200 of them). Is tattoo regret the latest A-list trend?
Pete Davidson Was Once a Human Doodle Pad
The transformation was front and center in his latest campaign for Reformation, where he posed in nothing but boxer briefs and an "Official Boyfriend" sweatshirt. (A branding move that feels almost too on the nose, given his insane dating history.)
With his fresh skin and toned physique plastered across billboards, the new Pete Davidson is a far cry from the inked-up, hoodie-clad comic we first met. He decided to remove them after going sober. “I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror, and I was like, ‘Nah.’ I was like, ‘I need to change it up a little bit,’” Davidson told Today, adding that he’s been working on removing the tats since 2020.
Celebs Covering Up Tattoos
Ariana Grande has been selectively covering and removing certain pieces of ink for years, but unlike Pete, she’s never made a grand announcement about removing them. Her butterfly tattoos, for example, were first spotted in 2020. Yet they were nowhere to be seen at the 2024 Met Gala.
The singer has also gotten rid of her iconic Evie tattoo. It’s possible that her role as Glinda in Wicked played a part in the cover-ups.
Then there’s Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, whose tattoo removals are more about a spiritual transformation. She’s also been undoing past body modifications, including dissolving facial fillers and removing a "demonic" Baphomet tattoo, as part of her renewed Christian faith. “Thank you God, for saving me,” she shared on Instagram while getting the tattoo lasered off.
So, if you’re thinking of getting inked, maybe ask yourself: will I still want this in a decade? Because if Hollywood’s latest trend is anything to go by, laser removal is the new rite of passage.
