Rapper M.I.A. Wonders Why Alex Jones "Pays For Lying" When Celebrities Aren't Held Accountable For Spreading Lies About Covid Vaccine

It's rare to see celebrities speak out against the mainstream narrative, especially when it relates to coronavirus and the vaccine. Rapper and singer M.I.A. is one of the few who dares to question the narrative. She asked why Alex Jones has to pay nearly $1 billion for lying but celebrities can get away with lying about the covid shot.

Commentator and controversial figure Alex Jones was ordered to pay $965 million to the families who lost children in the Sandy Hook shooting. The was after a defamation trial in which Jones was accused of spreading lies about the shooting and causing added trauma to the parents. The verdict has been reported on heavily in the news with nearly everyone celebrating the fact that he has to shell out nearly $1 billion in damages. But the British rapper and singer M.I.A. has a different perspective on the situation.

The Sandy Hook victims' relatives were awarded various sums by the jury; they claimed they were harassed and threatened for years because of the things Jones said about the incident. Mark Barden and his wife were awarded $86 million. He testified that conspiracy theorists urinated on his 7-year-old son's grave and threatened to dig up the coffin. While the parents' loss and pain is difficult to witness, M.I.A. can't help but wonder why Alex Jones is the only person who is held accountable for lying.

"If Alex jones pays for lying shouldn’t every celebrity pushing vaccines pay too?" she tweeted on Wednesday evening. The tweet generated more than 91,000 likes and the comment section displays a variety of responses. Some people agree with her while others heavily criticize her for even relating the two.

Celebrities, politicians, and pundits told us for countless months that the Covid vaccine would not only prevent you from getting the virus but also stop you from spreading the virus to others. They also told Americans that there were no harmful side effects of the virus—no risk of myocarditis, irregular menstrual cycle, etc. Time revealed the truth, though, and it turned out that there were thousands of people who either suffered negative health effects from the vaccine or even died from it. Furthermore, it became very clear that the vaccine doesn't protect you from contracting the virus and it definitely doesn't stop you from spreading it. Soon enough, all of the famous people who told you that the vaccine would fully protect you from the virus changed their tune to "the vaccine will stop you from being hospitalized or dying from the virus."

M.I.A. is one of the few celebrities who has dared to speak out about the vaccine, or at least question its efficacy. Many of the responses suggest that she's only posting this kind of content for "Kanye-level fame," but M.I.A. doubled down.

"It's 2022, so far no one has ever paid a billion dollars for lying or being in denial on this planet," she tweeted.

"Alex jones lying and Pfizer lying both trending . One with penalty other without. If you have no critical thinking faculty, this is about as crazy as we should get before a nuclear war wipe out the human race," she tweeted again.

She has more than 639,000 followers on Twitter. The fact that a person with this kind of reach on social media would even question the narrative in this way is quite unheard of.
