Monica Lewinsky modeling for a fashion brand in 2024 was not on my bingo card, but here we are.

Lewinsky, a former White House intern who had an affair with Bill Clinton, has become the poster woman of a campaign launched by Reformation and Vote.org. The 50-year-old is promoting Reformation's latest "You've Got the Power" campaign, an effort to build voting registration awareness for this year's election.

Listen, Clinton is awful, and it was unfair for Lewinsky to get all the blame, but...I'm not sure she's the best messenger for voting. I don't think it's compelling young women to register either, but it's great publicity for Reformation.

"Voting is using our voice to be heard and it’s the most defining – and powerful – aspect of democracy," Lewinsky said. "Voting is always important, but the stakes are especially high this year with voter frustration and apathy threatening to meaningfully impact turnout."

The campaign is apparently nonpartisan, yet some social media personalities are skeptical. "I am sure they want you to vote Democrat," commented Arynne Wexler on X.

"Another faceless brand telling you to vote isn't going to cut through, so they teamed up with someone iconic who would. As a changemaker and activist, Monica has been advocating for women to use their voices and embrace their power for decades," a press release for the launch said.

At least the campaign isn't as tone-deaf as Joe Biden buying fried chicken for a black family and talking about basketball to encourage young black men and women to vote.

It's been decades since the 22-year-old Lewinsky made headlines for having an affair with then-president Bill Clinton. While many argue that Lewinsky was a willing participant, she asserts that Clinton abused his power. “He was my boss," she recalled. "He was the most powerful man on the planet. He was 27 years my senior, with enough life experience to know better. He was, at the time, at the pinnacle of his career, while I was in my first job out of college.” The scandal led to years of bullying for Lewinsky, and she became an activist and advocate for anti-bullying.
