Disney's live-action remake of Snow White just continues to disappoint the audience. The film, which was supposed to hit theaters in 2024, has been delayed by a year to March 21, 2025. The movie stars 22-year-old Rachel Zegler, who is known for her role in West Side Story and her controversial interviews. The young actress faced backlash this year for voicing her hate for the original tale's themes and character.

Unfortunately, Zegler came off as "unlikeable" and "arrogant" in many of her press interviews, and social media users even accused her of being insincere, given that she's shown differing stances in several videos. For example, she shared her fears about a Snow White Disney ride in one interview, yet she purportedly was seen enjoying the same ride in another.

Months after Zegler's promotional approach sparked outrage, we are now getting a first look at the Snow White remake – but it seems no one is looking forward to the movie. The image we're given is of Zegler surrounded by creepy-looking dwarves.
"Cancel it," writes @scorpianwings.

"WTF IS THIS," comments @epiclfy.

Initially, the movie sent the internet into a frenzy after a photo of stand-in dwarves appeared to be men of various heights. Based on this first look, the dwarves will now be CGI'd. It's giving uncanny valley, to say the least.

My beef isn't with Zegler this time – while her comments did come off as obnoxious, she didn't deserve the hate. Disney, however, needs to get bullied for poorly remaking movies rather than creating new stories. Even the beloved Bambi is getting a modern twist, and so many others. It's safe to say that we're entering the age of "Disney fatigue," where people are growing tired of the incessant live-action remakes. Maybe it's time for Disney to work its magic in a new, non-woke direction.
