Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams made a claim recently about the heartbeat heard during the early pregnancy in an attempt to support abortion.
Stacey Abrams is a Georgian politician who ran for governor and lost her race, but she is attempting the run again. She is a progressive politician who has advocated for reparations and for abortion on demand—up until the minute before birth. It also states on her website that she wants to cut funding for crisis pregnancy centers. At a recent panel discussion, she claimed that the heartbeat heard during a sonogram is completely fake.

The Twitter account called RNC Research shared a short clip in which Stacey Abrams was speaking on stage next to several other people. Assumedly, the topic was about pregnancy, abortion, and healthcare, and she claimed that women who hear the heartbeat of their baby at six weeks old aren't actually hearing the heartbeat. Instead, they're hearing a made-up sound that was designed by the patriarchy to control women's bodies.
"There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks," she said. "It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman's body."
The woman next to her on stage nods in agreement and nobody seems to bat an eye at her statement. Not only is she claiming that women aren't actually hearing their baby's heartbeat, but that doctors are lying to their patients and creating fake sonogram sounds for the mother. It's an outlandish claim at best, but nobody on stage felt the need to refute it. At this point, it feels like Democrats will say just about anything to justify ending the life of innocent life in the womb.

Abrams has yet to respond to the backlash and clarify her comments.
