Stephen Baldwin Says The "Devil Runs Hollywood"
Stephen Baldwin thinks satan is running Hollywood.
Hollywood has never been shy about toeing the line between controversy and creativity.
Stephen Baldwin has a lot to say about this. In a recent VladTV interview that’s been making the rounds on TikTok, Baldwin doubled down on his belief that “the devil runs Hollywood.”
DJ Vlad, the interviewer, asked, “You said that the devil runs Hollywood?”
Baldwin replied, “I did say that. Yes. Still believe.” He continued, “Didn’t we just have Christmas?” What were the films that premiered for Christmas? Name the titles you can think of now.”
After a pause, he added: “Carry On, right, which had a Christmas backdrop to it. Right. But I can’t really think of any actual Christmas films.”
The exchange continued with a mention of Nicole Kidman’s film: “Baby Girl, I think it’s called,” he added, nut, as he pointed out, “Not a Christmas movie.”
Then came Baldwin’s pièce de résistance: “And then there’s [Nosferatu]? No, I can’t even say it. It’s so evil. If you look at the marketing for the new Christmas vampire movie, Vlad, see the Christmas vampire movie. If you look at the advertising for that, it doesn’t say devil. It never says it says, you know, darkness and, you know, the principalities of darkness and, you know.”
There’s no doubt that Hollywood’s had a growing fascination with the “dark and edgy.” Even Sam Smith at the 2023 Grammys dressed up as the devil himself in a performance dripping in red lighting and occult vibes. His song was titled “Unholy,” for crying out loud.
Or take Doja Cat’s Paint the Town Red. The horned visuals in her music video sparked a firestorm among Christians, but the funny thing is that nothing about it feels shocking anymore. The novelty of the controversy it usually brings is gone. Even I’m bored of the outrage. It’s like Hollywood has been feeding us these devilish breadcrumbs so long that it’s become so normal, to the point that it’s actually cringey.
Baldwin might be onto something, even if his delivery feels a bit Baldwin-esque. It’s easy to roll your eyes at the Baldwins. However, Hollywood seems less interested in uplifting stories these days and more focused on the dark and chthonian. With Hollywood's obsession with satanism, you can't help but wonder if they have a hidden agenda.
