Taylor Frankie Paul, Mormon TikToker Previously Caught In Swinger Drama, Arrested For Domestic Violence
With 4 million followers on TikTok, Taylor Frankie Paul is a Mormon mom who was at the center of a "soft swinging" drama last year. Reportedly, she has just been arrested for domestic violence.
TikTok loves a good drama, and Taylor Frankie Paul has served enough drama to keep millions of people interested and coming back for more. Taylor, 28, is a Mormon mom of two who went through a messy divorce last year due to a "soft swinging" scandal. Apparently, she and her husband were participating in some kind of swinger group with other couples they were friends with. Taylor revealed in a livestream that she and other members of MomTok (a group of Taylor and other Mormon moms with robust numbers of followers that often filmed content together) were engaged in "soft swinging," an agreement where you can swap your spouse with someone else as long as intercourse isn't involved and you hook up with someone else while your spouse is present. After apologizing in her video to her "whole group of friends," Taylor shared that she and her husband Tate were getting a divorce, evidently because she snuck off with someone else's husband to hook up in private. Even though Taylor has moved on to the next chapter of her life, it seems as though she is facing a new kind of drama.

After Taylor and Tate broke up, Taylor moved into her own apartment and shared the newfound struggles of co-parenting with her TikTok followers. She started dating Dakota Mortensen, 30, with whom she often posts content for TikTok.
They're both Mormon and have documented themselves attending church with Taylor's children.
By all accounts, the couple seems to be happy together, and Dakota is clearly involved in her children's lives.
However, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office records, Taylor was arrested in Herriman, Utah on Saturday and booked in jail at 1:56 a.m. She was released just several hours later in the late morning around 10:30 a.m. but is facing three misdemeanor charges: assault, criminal mischief, and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
A spokesperson for the Herriman City Police Department gave a statement to NBC news. "Following her jail booking, detectives received additional video evidence related to this case that resulted in the case being referred to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office for screening of felony assault charges against Ms. Paul," the spokesperson said. "This evidence also suggests that during the incident, Ms. Paul’s minor child was injured by an action of Ms. Paul. Subsequently, our investigators are also screening a misdemeanor charge of reckless child abuse with the District Attorney’s Office."
The police department also shared an official statement on its Twitter page on Friday.
The police first responded to a report of domestic violence at 11:00 p.m. on February 17. An investigation was subsequently conducted, finding "additional video evidence related to this case that resulted in the case being referred to the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office for screening of felony assault charges against Ms. Paul."
Dakota told the Daily Mail that Taylor was at a Galentine's Party that night, and he went to pick her up and drive her home. He said he's "not even allowed to speak with her" right now and that he wasn't the one who called 911. It was likely a neighbor who made the phone call.
"I don't even want the truth to come out. She's so broken right now. I tried to help her," Dakota said. "She's a good mom, she's going through a lot in her life right now. Taylor's been struggling, it's been a hard year for her. She is racked with guilt on her cheating scandal that cost her her marriage."
He added that Taylor "never hurt anyone intentionally," and he wants to "wait for everything to come out" before he says anything else. Taylor recently shared her experience with an ectopic pregnancy on TikTok; she and Dakota were excited to see that she got a positive pregnancy test, but it ended up being a loss for the couple.
"She needs help, she hasn't had time to process the ending of her marriage. She's having a hard time forgiving herself for the swinging scandal. And then she had an ectopic pregnancy," Dakota continued. "I love Taylor very much and want to have a future with her."
The couple doesn't live together; Dakota rents an apartment about 20 miles away from Taylor's home. He thinks this arrest is a "rock bottom" moment for Taylor and hopes she will be able to pick herself back up.
"We'll just have to let it go through the system and see how it pans out. I have no idea when I'll be able to see or talk to Taylor again. It could be days, weeks, or months," he said.
