Tech Billionaire Reid Hoffman Is Funding America's Political Chaos—He's Also Connected to Jeffrey Epstein

Anti-Trump Reid Hoffman, a major Democratic donor and tech billionaire, has invested millions in "misinformation" campaigns to confuse voters and give advantages to far-left political candidates. Now, many are calling for an investigation after he stated that he wanted to make Trump "a martyr" and his advisor urged the media to deny the assassination attempt was real.

Reid Hoffman is a LinkedIn co-founder, major Democratic donor, and friend of Jeffrey Epstein who has emerged as a key figure in funding efforts that sow political division across the country. His investments and actions reveal a deliberate strategy to distort public perception, but his most recent actions are even more disturbing.

Spreading Propaganda

Hoffman’s history of disinformation and election meddling is well-documented. He funded American Engagement Technologies (AET), a group that ran misleading ad campaigns to suppress Republican voter turnout.

Additionally, Hoffman backed New Knowledge, a tech firm that created thousands of fake Twitter accounts to appear as Russian bots during the 2017 Alabama Senate race, aiming to falsely suggest Russian support for Roy Moore. Hoffman later apologized for this deceptive tactic but continued funding misinformation campaigns.

In 2021, Hoffman supported Courier Newsroom, a corporation that funds openly partisan newsrooms. Axios reported that Hoffman’s and George Soros’s investments helped expand Courier Newsroom’s operations, allowing it to promote liberal causes while attacking conservatives. Despite its stated mission to "combat misinformation," Courier Newsroom's activities deepened the partisan divide.

Hoffman also made substantial investments in Smartmatic, a voting machine company currently suing Fox News for $2.7 billion. The lawsuit alleges that Fox News harmed Smartmatic’s business prospects by airing coverage that linked the company’s voting machines to claims of voter fraud during the 2020 election.

Wishing for Violence Against Trump

Hoffman further escalated his anti-Trump rhetoric at The Allen & Co. conference, held annually in Sun Valley, Idaho. The gathering of media and tech moguls known for high-level networking and deal-making became tense when Hoffman argued with former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel. Hoffman stated, “Yeah, I wish I had made him an actual martyr,” referring to Donald Trump.

In response, the National Legal and Policy Center called for Hoffman to resign from the boards of Microsoft Corp. and the Defense Innovation Board, arguing that Hoffman's support for political violence makes him unqualified to hold a position at major institutions like Microsoft and the Defense Innovation Board.

Claiming the Assassination Attempt was "Staged"

In an email sent less than 24 hours after the attempted assassination of Trump, Hoffman's top advisor and co-investor Dmitri Mehlhorn suggested a disturbing “possibility” that the shooting might have been staged to benefit Trump.

“The possibility--which feels horrific and alien and absurd in America, but is quite common globally--is that this ‘shooting’ was encouraged and maybe even staged so Trump could get the photos and benefit from the backlash," suggested Melhorn.

“This is a classic Russian tactic,” Mehlhorn added, comparing it to actions taken by Vladimir Putin and Hamas.

“I know I am prone to bias on this, but this is a classic Putin play and given the facts seems more plausible. Look at the actual shot. Look at the staging. Look at how ready Trump is to rally; this pampered baby shit his pants when an eagle lunged at his food. Look at how quickly Trump protects himself at the expense of others, but showed few of those lifelong instincts in this moment. And consider how often Putin and his allies run this play.”

He continued: “I know it feels yucky to discuss such a possibility. But in this case, the odds are so high, and the stakes so consequential, we must as[k] the question.”

Mehlhorn wrote that he was disappointed that journalists were not aggressively pushing the possibility of a fake shooting.

“Ask the question, people. If it proves wrong, we should respond appropriately to a non-staged act of political violence, as outlined above. But your credibility and our entire system of truth and justice depends on being certain of the answer.”

The other possibility, Mehlhorn added, “is that some crazy anti-Trumper in this chaotic moment decided to assassinate the former President.”

This email exemplifies the kind of conspiracy theories Hoffman's camp is willing to push, fueling misinformation among Americans.

Hoffman’s well-documented willingness to fund dubious and divisive tactics illustrates a broader left-wing strategy to reshape American political discourse through misinformation, but Elon Musk speculated that Hoffman's desperation could also stem from fear of being investigated for his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Reid Hoffman's role in funding political chaos and slander highlights a significant and concerning influence in American politics. As his financial and strategic interventions continue to shape public narratives and legal battles, the implications for democracy and political discourse remain profound and deeply unsettling.
