What's the wild "conspiracy theory" that's taken over TikTok, suggesting Beyoncé might have been involved in Aaliyah's death? You can read our article on Aaliyah's untold story of abuse here.

This week, videos of celebrities giving shoutouts to Queen B have been trending all over TikTok. Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift to declare that Beyoncé had one of the best albums of all time in 2009 at the MTV VMAs. Adele literally broke her Grammy in half to dedicate it to Beyoncé in 2017.

The theories went haywire on social media as these clips resurfaced – why do so many stars, from Lizzo to Lady Gaga to Britney Spears, shower Beyoncé with endless praise? Why do they place the spotlight on Beyoncé when it’s their time to shine at these award shows?

Many believe these public shoutouts are connected to the fact that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have maintained a close friendship with P. Diddy, who was recently arrested on conspiracy, racketeering, and sex trafficking charges. TikTokers are convinced she's some kind of leader in a secret, cult-like club in the music industry (I know, it sounds insane). But given that P. Diddy is allegedly the entertainment industry's version of Epstein, it’s only natural that people are going crazy with the “conspiracy theories.”

Here's what social media users are saying.

People Think Jay-Z and Beyoncé Killed People

You read that right. TikTokers are convinced that the power couple had something to do with the deaths of Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, and Left Eye.

One video insinuates that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were involved in foul play, garnering 7.8 million views. The song "She Knows" by J. Cole played in the background, with the names Shawn (Jay-Z's real name) and Knowles circled. The user suggests that "She Knows" sounds very similar to "Shawn [and] Knowles." Others think that it’s “Sean” for Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The clip included pictures of Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, and Left Eye. It doesn't help that the song "She Knows" was taken down from YouTube due to legal disputes.

A post showcasing their birthdays went viral as well. The three legends all share birthdays on the 25th, while P. Diddy, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z were all born on the 4th.

Other viral videos call Beyonce a “backstabber” for “betraying” Aaliyah.

People believe that Bey didn’t want Aaliyah “to have more publicity than her, so Beyoncé and others involved had Aaliyah killed,” as written by one user. Again, there is no proof – and by the looks of it, the two seemed to get along well.

People Think Celebs Have To Thank Beyoncé at Awards

The audience believes Beyoncé is so influential that celebrities give her shoutouts to avoid her wrath. Some say she's the one destined to win, while others claim she’s the reason they’ve won.

In August 2023, Lizzo praised the "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" singer during her Grammys acceptance speech, saying Beyoncé's gospel medley changed her life. Similarly, Adele expressed her admiration for the Lemonade album during her 2017 Grammy acceptance speech.

“Why [does] the attention always have to be back to her?” asked @malooki._10 on TikTok.

For now, there's no way of knowing whether all of P. Diddy's friends are involved in his alleged crimes. But if you ask me, I think these people just genuinely love Beyoncé and appreciate her music.
