The Internet Has Opinions On 12-Year-Old Blue Ivy’s Dress
The people are divided. Is Blue Ivy's dress at the "Mufasa: Lion King" premiere inappropriate for a 12-year-old?

The Knowles-Carter family spent time together at the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King.
Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and their daughter Blue Ivy made sure the world noticed them as they entered the Dolby Theatre – and boy, did they notice the 12-year-old’s dress.
Beyoncé and Blue Ivy both stunned in metallic gold gowns. The family posed for photos, and that was it. No grand speeches, no media interviews, probably because of the allegations that have come up regarding Jay-Z and the alleged rape of a 13-year-old.
Recently, Jay-Z found himself embroiled in a legal battle after a woman accused him of rape alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs. The claim, which alleges an incident at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, has been met with a swift and scathing denial from Jay-Z, who called the accusation “heinous” and a “blackmail attempt.”
Is the Dress Too Much?
Many users commented on Blue Ivy’s fashion choices at the premiere. Some questioned whether a 12-year-old should be wearing a "princess ball gown," while others expressed discomfort with the "oversexualization" of her appearance.
One user, @seltzerprincess, wrote, "this is insane for obvious reasons but i also think we need to acknowledge that blue ivy is 12 and putting her in a dress like that is f*cking weird sorry."
Another tweet from @TheTitanBaddie reads, "I really do hope Blue Ivy never has a public social media presence until she's at least 22/23. Just saw someone saying her parents dressing her in a PRINCESS BALL GOWN is oversexualizing her. I hate you guys so much."
@PinkRubi05 added, "Honestly the way blue Ivy a 12 year old is over sexualized by her parents needs to be studied because she still a child and they’re dressing her like she’s 17-18 year old."
But not everyone shares that view. @lesbeyonsay weighed in, saying, "the discourse about blue ivy wearing makeup is just plain weird, the way yall talk about little kids on here is disgusting. also her parents aren't forcing her to wear makeup, her own grandma said she does her makeup sometimes and enjoys it. let her express themselves."
Others aren’t even focused on the dress but instead have their eyes on Jay-Z, with some speculating that his attendance is a calculated move to improve his public image. Jay-Z denies the allegations, stating that anyone who would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away.
"My only heartbreak is for my family," he wrote in a statement. "My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit."
