Ladies, always be aware of your surroundings. A TikToker recorded a man following her while she was on her three-mile run – watch as the stranger seemingly gets closer throughout the video.

Warning signs are always present, and we have to trust our gut at all times. It's unfortunate, but violence against women is very much present in our society today, and we have to take extra precautions to keep ourselves safe. One girl named Lacie on TikTok (@lacie_kraatz) showed her audience just how terrifying it is to be alone in public. The user recorded a creepy video of herself informing women to be aware of their surroundings while a stranger trails behind her.
"Hello, I'm just making this video so that women are a little bit more aware of them. See the gentleman behind me? Yeah, this is what this video is about," she says. A man in a white tee can be spotted behind her as she talks.
According to Lacie, the man was ahead of her – in the opposite direction – while she was out running. At some point, he ended up behind her. "Now, as you can see, he's behind me. And the reason being is because he waited, stopped in the middle of the trail just to get behind me."
"Let me tell you, I was just walking like this, and I look up, and he's in front of me,” she continues, “And he just keeps doing a peek like this behind him, over and over again. And yes, I went a different way on the trail just to give him the benefit of the doubt."
Lacie even ran through a red light at a crosswalk to get ahead of the stranger, but he sped up and caught up to her. "You know, at red lights, where it stops the person from walking? Well, I ran that, I wasn't supposed to. That was illegal. So just so that he would be, like, half a mile behind me," she adds. Lacie began to run in the clip to see if he would do the same, and much to her dismay, he began to take off as well.
You can see the man hiding behind a car toward the end of the clip, and the TikToker had to cut her run short to keep herself safe. "I wanted to do three miles, but no, creepy men just had to be creepy f*cking men today." She later adds, "If, for a minute, you feel like someone's following you – odds are it's probably happening."
In late March, a video of a woman on TikTok went viral when she shared how she screamed at a man approaching her in a parking lot. The clip prompted discussions of women "overreacting" and being unnecessarily cautious. Others were on her side due to the increasing violence against women.
The United States is currently ranked 129th out of 163 countries on the Global Peace Ranking for 2022, suggesting there's a risk of danger to U.S. residents, especially females. According to WHO, nearly one in three women worldwide have experienced non-partner sexual violence and intimate partner violence – that's a total of 736 million women around the world. Another report by the U.S. Department of Justice found that kidnappers victimized females more than males.
Most of us want to believe that nothing could ever happen to us – but in this day and age, women must remain vigilant wherever they go.
