Is Timothée Chalamet getting fat-shamed?

This week, several videos comparing photos of Timothée Chalamet from 2021 to 2024 have gone viral on TikTok. Many stated that we're witnessing his "twink death," or "glow down."

In my opinion, his fans are overreacting. The older images typically depict him with a chiseled jawline with hollow cheeks. They're also using pictures of him from years ago, so of course he looks slightly different. Honestly, the fact that people are hyperfocused on his aging is jarring. I advise them to log off and touch some grass.

The newer photos that show Chalamet's "transformation" aren't even revolutionary – he pretty much looks the same. However, people are pointing out how he appears to have gained weight or stopped mewing. I mean, seriously?! Even if he did, it's not that much, and he still looks handsome!

TikTok user @erikshin says she feels the "twink death" coming for him in the comment section. Others think he'll end up like Leonardo DiCaprio.

Another user, @kiernanconnla, came to Chalamet's defense, writing, "As someone who was as skinny as him, and just recently gained weight too... it's so upsetting."

Luckily, tons of people still agree that Chalamet is still handsome. "He's beautiful, who cares the face is always changing, we are getting older," a fan commented on TikTok. "He's still a beautiful human."

Hopefully, these videos talking about his supposed "weight gain" don't reach his For You Page. Despite Chalamet's success, he isn't immune to scrutiny. In 2022, the Dune actor talked about the impact of social media. "To be young now, and to be young whenever—I can only speak for my generation—is to be intensely judged," Chalamet said. "I can't imagine what it is to grow up with the onslaught of social media."
